Yes It's ok. But it's information is basically in her contented child book aswell. It gives the signs to look for to see if your child is ready and then gives stages to introduce the potty whilst you are on the toilet, letting the child sit on the potty(fully clothed). Then putting the child on at certain times of the day (I did it after each meal) without the nappy and see if they do anything. Do this for a couple of weeks and if the child is happy and willing to do it then go onto the putting in pants stage and go for it!!! i think the books ok but when it comes down to the pants stage it just depends on the child. The book says that if you're not getting anything in the potty by day 2 and just having accidents then the child probably isn't ready but my little girl is now on day 4 and on day 1 she was great just one wee and one poo in her pants but day 2 everything in the pants but today only one accident and she knows where to go if she needs a wee and actually managed to say she wanted the potty and sat on it and five minutes later poo'd so I think she's getting there. Tomorrow will probably be another story!! I think the books ok but there's no magic recipe in it. Has your local library got a copy? Mind you if you have a quick flick through it in a bookshop you'll get the gist! There's a lot of anecdotes in it aswell to fill the book out.

I think just keeping asking (although youfeel like a right nag) and now when I ask dd if she needs wee/poo where does she go she says potty and usually points to it. Although at this stage her actually telling me she wants it isn't always reliable. Catching that look is really difficult I think but I'm sticking with it and hoping that she will begin to realise she wants to go at least now she's realising when she's gone as she watches it! Previously if she had been without a nappy for some reason and she wee'd she was oblivious - so some progress !!!

dd did that last week..put some 'proper' nic nics on her and kept asking her if she needed to wee wee or poo poo..she knew what to say when she needed it, but just didnt say it before she wee'd all over my new and very expensive rug..bless
