DS1's capacity for food is really quite alarming

I ahve often posted/thought about this before.
DS1 is 12, he's 5ft6/7 and the amount of food he packs away, worries me.
I sometimes wonder though if it's just me overreacting or if his "off" switch doens't work.
He eats 4 weetabix and 4 slices of toast for breakfast. he takes a cereal bar and a banana, plus £2.50 dinner money. he always has a full cooked diner -lasagne and salad, or pasta or fish and chips for lunch at school.
He comes home from schoola nd will have up to 4 slices bread or a bowl of cereala dn some fruit at 4pm, then sit down and tuck into a bigger portion of dinner than me, followed by a pudding if we have one (crumble, or fruit and yoghurt usually) followed by a yoghurt (the yoghurt thing is strange, it's like a rouitne with him when at home, he has to ahve one regardless of wether he's had a pudding or not) then usually has some more bread, and an apple or banana etc.

often during the day he'll say "can I ahve some toast, I'm hungry" and if I say well ahve osme fruit, he'll have an apple or banana and then ask for toast. He gets very upset if I limit food, andas a child we didn't get much int eh way of treats/snacks etc, it was 3 meals a day and that was it, I don't ever remember even ahving biscuits much, so I am always wary of him going hungry.

He's not overweight at all, the opposite in fact, you can see his ribs, and as I said at th e start he's tall.

He asked 10 minutes ago for toast, so he had toast, and and a banana, and has nowput 2 more slices of toast in toaster, whilst eating a jam scone

I don't even know what it is I'm wanting by posting this on here. I guess everyone says "oh it's normal he's a growing boy", well so is DS2 but he doesn't eat this much. nor does he get upset and kick off if I say no

He's gearing up for a growth spurt. It's perfectly normal for tall teenage boys to eat tons.

I used to eat like that throughout my entire childhood. I was very active and at his age he will be growing a lot. I wouldn't worry if he is not overweight.
