Ok so i use my super cute all in ones, pockets and fitteds for DD2 at the moment but i also have a pile of terry nappies i dont get use out of . Now rains coming i could really do with using these a lot more as they are faster to dry in doors with no dryer. Never used terries with DD1.

I tried when DD2 was first born and got on well with them for first 2 weeks then just couldnt get fit right! I gave up and bought super cute nappies.

DD is now 10 weeks old and quite slim round waist with skinny legs. Shes a very heavy wetter and explosive poo'er lol. Whats the best fold? and also what size would you recommend? I have some bright bots terries but im getting the feeling these are too small :s

DP hates the idea of terries but im just thinking about drying arghh. Any help would be happily received! TIA

Personally I cheated with the terry nappies. I tended to use half terry to half disposable, simply because the amount of washing during the winter was makeing it less economical.

Getting a slightly larger size and investing in extra stretchy clips was useful for me

disposables are not an option for us im afraid. Yer i have stretchy nippas but its round the legs that look...well..odd lol, they so far down her skinny legs the wrap just not covering the nappy. Am i doing something seriously wrong???

I've just bought a rain cover for my rotary dryer, that might be an easier solution for you!

I found the same thing with terries and never really got to grips with them. I used muslins in the early days and they worked really well (kite fold) but the big terries weren't right for us. If you do persevere with them, Bright Bots should fit for a long while yet - I know someone who still uses them on her toddler so they should fit a 10 week old.

Have a look at terrynappies.co.uk, there is a folding guide which says which are better for boys, girls, exploders etc. I use the origami fold on DS and roll the legs in. No leaks yet!

WillbeanChariot · 27/07/2010 12:45

Oh and my DH was not keen either but is now converted. They do dry so fast.

peachybums · 28/07/2010 14:27

Right well we tried the bat fold and its worked well so far :D. We havnt had any leaks even when she did an explosion this morning! Will carry on using this one if it works. Thanks for all your help
