Proofing wool wraps with Lansinoh

I'm thinking of putting DD into a wool-wrapped nappy at night. I know you can buy special wrap proofing stuff, but I have gallons of Lansinoh left and was wondering if there was any way I could use that?

You need to melt a lump in hot water - some say pea-sized but I can not believe that is nearly enough and always use loads more.

Add a wee squirt of wool wash, add cooler water - I think max temp is about 30 degrees, too cold and the Lansinoh goes well solid quickly again.

Whisk up, stick woollies in, soak for a long, long time.

Rinse, add a slug of white vinegar to last rinse. That is apparently because wool likes a lightly acid ph value (?).

It works a treat but it is a good idea to do longies etc inside out because you (I) often end up with unsightly greasy bits where the Lansinoh has lumped. They don't do any harm, and your DD's skin will be velvet soft.

Imse Vimse lanolin is easier to use that Lansinoh and has a really nice consistency. Spray lanolin is simplicity itself but often has a revolting scent added. (Thinks Sheepish Grins Monkey Fruits scented stuff - I was coughing and choking and gagging for DAYS every time I went in to the bathroom where I had sprayed it).

Lansinoh is just, um, pants for lanolizing. I found liquid lanolin was effective with a bit of wool wash, although there is a slightly sheep smell initially, but it does wear off.

And as Swampster says, inside out is a good move. DS has lovely smooth legs...
