First bra, how do you know when your dd needs one?

DD 9.2 has slowly been developing a bust for the last 9 months. I would say it just starting to become noticeable in some of her more fitted tops but still a long way off been a bust.

DD has been asking when will she have a bra. She's got crop tops with I hoped she'd get to the stage she'd grow out of them and we would move to bra's or she asked for a bra when she felt she needed one.

How do you tell it's time for their first bra? As it's clearly not yet.

I think you can get those sort of part vest part bra's. They are almost bikini looking.

They dont really do anything in the way of support but it may help span the gap between vests and bra's. I am sure she will be asking for one soon enough.

Take the lead from her.

I think when she starts telling you she wants one..

With us she started to say they hurt and ached so I got one as I thought that they should be supported if they hurt no matter how small.

I would say 9.8 is a bit young but some do develop early these days. Could you measure her and see if she comes to an AA? If so I think shes ready.

.. And Id reccomend M&S.

Sorry it took so long to get a response!

Oh, She was just turned 10.

That's the problem dd would have one now if it fitted. At the moment there's about a 1 inch different from under the bust to over the bust.

Maybe the time is right when she measures for an AA.

lexcat · 11/07/2010 22:13

Thanks but AA is tiny does she really need a bra at that stage, or is that more to keep dd happy.

I'd just take her into M&S and let them measure. Or you could go in for a chat with them on your own first.

prob more to keep her happy, and keep her up to speed with her mates... but IMO tha doesnt really hurt.
