I'm registered with the Fax Preference Servcice which means i shouldn't get faxes...but i cam edown at 8.20 this morning to find a fax through.

Because I only have a phone fax, I have to feed through one sheet at a time to print...there doesn't seem to be any way of not printing them once they are in the memory so I'm feeding sheet after sheet into the machine and it's repeatedly printing this TOTALLY UNWANTED FAX from these people

Utilize PLC
Scottish Mutual House
27-29 North Street
Hornchurch
Essex
RM11 1RS
www.utilize.co.uk
on the fax is an 0870 number to ring to cancel the faxes (doesn't say how much that costs to ring)

on their website there is a number which I've rung once and got voicemail so I left a message.

Saying I wanted them to stop sending faxes (I'm up to 20 of the same one from last night so far)and I will be invoicing them for the ink (which is very expensive you can only print about 75 sheets for 18.00)paper and my time.

I left my number for them to call me back.

I rang again when i discovered I still have more faxes to print before i can use the machine and they have turned off the voicemail and put it to answerephone and it invites you to leave a message but a recording cuts in advertising their services.

I am so angry, I've already wasted an hour on this company that i've never heard of and contacted me when they are not sup[posed to and on their fax they claim to be Investors in people.

Does anybody know how I can reprogramme my fax so i don't have to print off any more of this sheet

It is a Phillips magic Voice 2

If you've read this far thanks and well done...spitting feathers..

Cracking idea Soupy

lemonice · 08/08/2005 16:31

I did thaink of that but have sent them to the Fax Preference Service (an organisation for which he gives not a toss)

but, I did ask him how he would appreciate receiving information about toys which he hadn't asked for and his reply was that he wouldn't be bothered...so I do have some heavy toy catalogues I need to get rid of...

Go on, I dare you, NO in fact I double dare you

beeinbonnet · 08/08/2005 16:37

I'll see if I get my cheque first

I've also sent a query off to find out whether they are in fact Investors in People

SoupDragon · 08/08/2005 16:39

Do you have his fax number/name/address to register with a few places?

SoupDragon · 08/08/2005 16:39

I think "investors in people" is to do with their employees rather than their customers.

beeinbonnet · 08/08/2005 16:40

I have those and email...soupdragon, yes

SoupDragon · 08/08/2005 16:42

Damart are quite prolific with their catalogues.

SoupDragon · 08/08/2005 16:42

And maybe he'd be interested in some sort of "enhancement" surgery? Clearly he uses his job as a power substitute.

beeinbonnet · 08/08/2005 16:42

the logo for investors in people was on the fax but is totally absent from their website, I think it is supposed to be obtained by the company for employees but is also a kind of credibility standard because you have it to outsiders/customers?

QueenOfQuotes · 08/08/2005 16:46

The new Argos catalogue is pretty heavy - perhaps you he'd like a dozen of those, sent without enough postage

beeinbonnet · 08/08/2005 17:03

I am tempted, all I've done so far is bore him to death repeating myself to him. And I can be very boring and repetitive.

Apparently he sent out 700 faxes on Saturday night and no one complained except me (I suggested that perhaps I got all 700)

but why take our name from somewhere and send us a fax and then pretend we asked to be on their list because we made an enquiry about fax paper..the whole marketing concept of spam is beyond me, who responds in a positive way to it?

GeorginaA · 08/08/2005 17:10

Perhaps he figured that if he sent you 700 copies of the fax you'd be needing more fax paper

beeinbonnet · 08/08/2005 17:18

You mns have cheered me up, thanks so much...

GeorginaA · 08/08/2005 17:23

It's a shame really that they don't issue out those prepaid envelopes instead of faxes - we could have collected several and sent bricks back to them... They didn't have a FREEPOST address did they (she asks hopefully)?

lemonice · 08/08/2005 17:38

No chance of FREEPOST, I had to go to their website to find a geographic number rather than an 0870 one.

And if you are a client then their support is through a 0870 number too.
