I have made the huge mistake of shaving my bikini line. The itching is driving me mad, I can't sit still. Any ideas on what will stop the itching?

Talcum powder is soothing, I've discovered through experience. Smooth it on to the area directly rather than chucking it around in the general vicinity. HTH and that you feel less itchy soon.

aloe vera gel or witch hazel gel are good.

Try not to scratch or you'll get lots of horrid red bumps to add to your misery.

One not to try - bonjela!! My dh suggested this once and I was desperate enought o give the numbing gel a go - very sticky!! It won?t last long but until itching stops be careful what knickers you wear - baggy non rubbing ones help. Best thing I have found to work is dh?s after shave soothing gel - non sticky and really soothing.

veryitchy, looks like you are a prime candidate for this

Enid - Very funny site, especially the 'muff styles' And they're trying to be serious

Over a month later and I am still suffering from shaving my bikini line. Never again! I have got some Veet now and that seems to do the job without too much grief.

The problem now is that I have got an ingrown hair and I can't get rid of it. I have got a lump on my skin and you can also feel a much bigger lump that is deeper. Any idea how I can get rid of it?

I've had to have an operation before to remove a pilonidal cyst (sp?) from the base of my spine, which is where something grows into your skin the wrong way. I'm worried something similar could happen again.

veryitchy, my dh had one of those too, they are awful aren't they? If I were you I would go to the GP or nurse and get them to take a look now.

Diluted tea tree oil or Lanacane powder. Been there, scratched it.
