The huge dining service that you were given on your wedding day, where do you keep it?

I have a lovely wedgewood one, we use it about once a week.

I have no room in my kitchen as I also have a big everyday wedgewood service and we have a small cottage kitchen.

Because we use it so much it is out on a bookcase in the dining room, But it looks daft on there and I now have pile of books in the floor.

I have been looking at getting some kind of display cabinet but cannot find one I like.

I thought you meant the minging set that we had as a present over 20 years ago and that lives under the sink with the cleaning stuff just because I can't bring myself to chuck it out .

I really like mine, it is about ten years old now but still much loved and used.

I would go with a traditional side dresser in the kitchen dinning area. That way you still get the pleasure of seeing it when not in use and close by when needed.

Yes am looking for a dresser but everything else in the room is quite modern and we are on a very limoted budget.

Am checking ebay

Why does this still happen?! My mum gave us the Royal Albert old country roses full tea service, complete with little cream jug and cake stand. It lives in a huge tissue packed crate in the top of the wardrobe. We haven't even unpacked it- DH is terrified of breaking anything (he has a poor track record with vases). Then she lands me with the dinner service that HER mother got on her wedding day- the joys of being the eldest! No pressure eh...another crate... Have told DD to make sure she buys a house with a large loft.

I wanted my dinner service, I chose it!

I have to admit I am not a fan of Royal Albert.

I have actually broken some pieces as we have a quarry tile kitchen floor which runs into the dining room.

I hate the idea of special (ie hardly used) china.Or ANYTHING
Use it, enjoy it, break it. Meh.

wastwinsetandpearls · 18/04/2010 00:43

We do use ours frequently.

Sorry pressed post, but I agree with you mary life is too short.

I just do not have space in my kitchen for it and it is pretty.
