old age alert...?

Hi all, just a slightly unsettling topic - for me, anyway!! May sound quite trivial but here goes...

I'm turning 38 this year and have noticed in the past couple of months when plucking my eyebrows, that there have been a couple of little white ones in there... anyway I've just plucked them out, thinking (hoping) it's probably just a one-off thing.

Anyway I went to the hairdressers this morning to have my blonde foils done as per usual, and she found a grey hair on the top of my head!!!! Am I too young for this??? I am starting to wonder if stress has caused it, as neither of my parents went prematurely grey. I know there are lots of people who do go grey quite young, but I still feel that 38 is a bit too young to start sprouting grey hairs. Am I totally wrong about this?

Perhaps I can blame my 3 yr old son

I got my first grey hair at 30. I am now 36 and would not have an idea how many grey are actually there as it is dyed religiously every 6 weeks by the hairdresser. One hairdresser told me once that I had alot of grey and I seen my backside as she sprouted it off in front of dd3 and I have been skitted at ever since. But I am quick to tell her that she will take after me and that usually does the trick.
Holly02 I think you have done very well at 38.

wickedstepmother is that true about the grey down below because the thought of that happening terrifies me. It will just be another job for the hairdresser heehee
How about wrinkles, I dont have any yet and not looking forward to the prospect!!!!!!!

Elliott, I keep describing myself as 37 too, despite being 36 until October. I think it's because I know I'll be 37 when this one's born. The thread about Brian is here

I got my first white hairs in my mid twenties, have now plenty (I am 37). I don't bother dyeing to cover up as I'm lucky enough that my hair is fair (used to be blonde, getting darker all the time... another unwanted effect of old age!) so it looks as if I have highlights (or so I like to think...).
As for wrinkles... don't really have wrinkles as yet but have noticed a certain "slackness" of the skin in places, and I don't like it a bit

mmm and Soupdragon, I also came from a No Make Up family - my mother hardly ever uses it (except for lipstick). She has dark hair and lovely green eyes, but ALWAYS covers them up with glasses. She's one of those women who could look very attractive if only she'd make the best of her assets!!!

I didn't discover makeup til I left school and now I can't live without it - I'm a total devotee to cosmetics and pyroxide
