Hi all,
Lovely friend gave me this carrier but didn't remember to tell me how to put it on! I can kind of figure it out but wondered if anyone could tell me for certain or email me instructions!!

I practised with mine before DS was born - using a stufffed toy. Helps avoid throttling the infant - and it does become easy after practise!

Hey there! I loved my wilkinet. It was the best thing I bought for dd2. In fact, I often used to wear her for hours at a time- well, between breastfeeds! We moved house when she was about 5 weeks old, and probably couldn't have managed without it.
One thing- don't let anyone "help" you- it really is easier on your own... I could get mine on in a few seconds with practise.

Also, try practising with something a bit heavier than a soft toy. I think I used a bag of flour for that authentic droop!

anyone want to buy mine? hardly used, good condition...

popsycal · 22/07/2005 22:07

hold on....link coming up

popsycal · 22/07/2005 22:08

better than instructions.....videos....

It helps with putting the Wilkinet on if you're an octopus.

bossykate · 22/07/2005 22:32

seriously, i will sell mine if anyone's interested...

The wilkinet is great- I've now graduated onto a wrap- and the wilkinet was great practiice for that.

spidermama · 22/07/2005 22:50

LOVE the wilkinet. Carried all four of them in it til 8-10 months. Will miss it (sniff).

Jimjams · 22/07/2005 22:52

wraps and ergos are even more comfy but harder to put on. (can't do the ergo myself without a mirror and a soft landing)

tricottis are good too. All these are well tested in holding the baby secure whislt wrestling with autistic manic 6 year old- they've been put through their paces

hunkermunker · 22/07/2005 22:54

Loathed mine. Big boobs, a hot summer and a DS who enjoyed headbutting me made sling-wearing a non-starter Winter baby next time, so will try again - but not with Wilkinet! Want something I can breastfeed in!

misdee · 22/07/2005 22:55

jj, where can i see a tricotti, is it good for this weather? i love my moby wrap but get a bit too warm with it atm.

misdee · 22/07/2005 22:56

i was breastfeeding dd3 in the sling last weekend when walking about at a car boot sale, a very liberating experience for me

handlemecarefully · 22/07/2005 22:57

You've got the instructions now eh? Great! Wilkinets are fab. I found mine very easy to put on (after the first couple of attempts), and it did seem to feel natural and distribute my baby's weight very equally.

Jimjams · 22/07/2005 22:57

ooo dunno- I bought it locally- it is quite light- very easy to use, but mainly for front carry- I use it for nursery pick up of ds2. DS3 sits there happily.

hunkermunker · 22/07/2005 22:58

There's a Tricotti here, Misdee

misdee · 22/07/2005 22:58

i like front carries, and dd3 likes the joey hold. nosy little girl lol.

Jimjams · 22/07/2005 22:59

here we go I bought my ergo from little possums- they were good.

misdee · 22/07/2005 23:03

looks good. i liek the look of the calin bleu guaze wrap as well.

misdee · 22/07/2005 23:09

oh that site is going to be bad for my card.......

misdee · 22/07/2005 23:28

oops, just ordered a ring sling for future quick trips out with my car when i pass my test (school run etc), and a calin bleu for the hot summer days we have sometimes.
