Does anyone know if there's a Primark in Kent?

I know there isn't one in the Canterbury/Thanet/Ashford end, but Maidstone, Medway anywhere? I'm dying to see what all the fuss is about and need cheap stuff for my holiday.

Nothing comes up on Google and it doesn't seem to have a website.

Boring? There are tons of different patterns and logos for little girls. You can't possibly tell me that Primark is more interesting? Unless of course, holes in clothes makes them more interesting?

alterego · 18/07/2005 10:47

I was thinking mainly of the adult stuff. Some of the little girl stuff is nice but for older girls it's all a bit staid and far too many branded items. Nothing really funky :}

HappyDaddy · 18/07/2005 11:14

Still better than Primark, though.

Next is admittedly nicer and longer lasting but sooooooooooo expensive

Fio2 · 18/07/2005 11:18

it is like a jumnble sale isnt it

HappyDaddy · 18/07/2005 11:21

You really think it's expensive? I don't, honestly. The clothes last so long and stay looking good for ages. Then again, I used to shop there for my clothes when I was working so maybe am just used to it.

Next beats Primark any day.

KBear · 18/07/2005 12:32

I like both (sitting on fence) but I wish Next would lose the "cheeky monkey" "here come's trouble" crap they put on their t-shirts for boys. I got a t-shirt with a racing car on it for DS in Primark for £2.50 and it is wearing as well as his Next ones at double the price. Mix and match is the answer for me - some cheapos you don't mind them dropping icecream down and ruining and some others for "best".

Turq, I am planning on going into Chatham tomorrow lunch time briefly. Did you fancy meeting then?

likklemum · 18/07/2005 17:50

The Primark in Chatham is undergoinig a refurb, so you have to get your elbows out even more in the scrum! I went recently and got my whole summer wardrobe, a few bits for ds and a shirt for dp plus some jewellery for £60. Just right for me coz i've just had ds and dont want to be this size for longer than a season anyway. dp wasn't that impressed with his shirt tho ! Some Primark stuff lasts surprizingly well. I heard they got taken to court by Dooty P's for ripping off their clothes at a fraction of the price.

Cadbury - great, you're on. Will call you in the morning

all shops for girls clothes are far better than the boys stuff that is on offer. i find primark, next, gap, m&s all complete rubbish for boys clothes and have resorted to getting most of ds2's clothes from the internet at companys like noaddedsugar and peski-kids.
but if i had a girl it would be primark ahoy as they have such beutiful summer clothing and if it only lasts one season, who cares they'll have outgrown it by next year anyway!

I buy a lot of my children's clothes at Primark and find their clothes to be well made and great designs. Much classier than next (who wants the word next plastered all over their children!). Don't quite know what you are washing your clothes with, Happy Daddy, but maybe you should take a look at that. My kids' primark clothes have lasted through many many washes and still look as good as new and who can beat those prices.
