HELP ! Ideas for 'keepsake' presents for 9 & 11 yr old boys

I'm getting married in 5 weeks time and my DH-to-be and I thought that it would be nice to get his sons a special keepsake gift. They are 9 and 11 and are into all the usual boys stuff - PS2, Pokemon cards etc but we wanted to get them something that can be kept to remind them of our wedding day. The trouble is finding something that will also mean something to them now.

DH-to-be and I also have a 10 month old daughter and plan to get her a special charm for her charm braclet which was a 'birth present' from us. But finding gifts for the boys is proving a little harder. Any ideas gratefully recieved

Thankfully not. They had been separated for 2 years when I came on the scene, but there is a fair age gap between DP and I (13.5 years) and ex seemed to think that gave her the right to assume that I was

a) a 'dumb bimbo' ( a bit rich!)
b) bound to cheat on DP
c) a TERRIBLE, uncaring, irresponsible step-parent.

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

hmmmm. interesting that she still cared after 2 years. Mind you I am sur e i would be the same. Fry up eaten

She didn't 'care' about DP as in carry a torch, she 'cared' because she knew that he would push for a divorce and therefore her free financial meal ticket would be taken away...

Still not certain but DP was VERY keen on your footie shirt idea.

P.S. Have posted on the 'position in family' thread, as requested !

IMHO boys are not sentimental like us girlies are and don't know if a 'special' gift will have the desired effect. Unless they are different to my DS.

How about a gold chain each? Also maybe some vouchers for their favourite store/eaterie? Or pay for lessons in something they'd like to do?

wickedstepmother · 25/06/2003 14:32

The boys will appreciate what is given to them, whatever it is. But they are not really the type for jewellery, none of us are - unless it's expensive
