If you had a tiiiiiiny spare room, what would you put in it?

It was going to be a study until we realised that dd1 and 2 love playing on the pc and so we'd rather have the pc downstairs.

So we could make it a spare room. It is just big enough for a double bed - would you have a double in there permanently or buy one of those Aero inflatable beds for guests......hmmm tis a dilemma at Enid Cottage.

what about a pull out bed , the ones with tow singlr mattresses one under the other bed, or have it as an exercise room!! toy room

oo if you don't want an office I would put in it

bookshelves all down one wall, a small stereo a nice light and a very comfortable (small) sofa bed so that it is a library cum guest room at a pinch

Sofabed and bolt on door for moments of sanity in the middle of mad days

BTW if it fits a double bed it is not a 'tiny room' it is a single room

in our box room it was gonna be a 'play room' for DH with a tv his ps2 a sofa bed and general lads room, but i've just found out i'm PG so instead it's gonna be the nursery.

It can fit a double bed but then NOTHING else.

The two single mattress beds are too wide for it.

having a single bed seems a bit pointless as anyone who comes to stay comes as a couple.

I would shelve it out from floor to ceiling with wide shelves and use it as a storage room and get rid of all the crap that lies around in all the other rooms because we can't find anywhere to put it!

the new extension has tons of storage though so at last that isnt really an issue.

Also dont want a playroom as the dds new rooms are big enough for all their nik naks (thank the lord)

Emod (love the new name!) - would it fit a futon in it so you could use it as a sofa 99% of the time but it would fold out to a double for guests?

Maybe when you've got the futon as a sofa you can have one other piece of furniture in there that you can easily take out when guests use the room??

I'd go for a sofa that turned into a small double so it could be a spare room but wasn't mainly a spare room.

But I'd try to make it nice enough that I wanted to sit there with a glass of wine and a book on the sofa. I'd make it a no telly room too and keep quite a few of my books in there, maybe ones I haven't got around to reading.

My MIL says 'who on earth will go and sit in there' and she's got apoint but I think having a permanent double will make hoovering etc a pain.

I put a lodger in ours! Can be very handy with washing up and a bit of childcare. We've got a high single bed with loads of storage space under; a little desk with chair and a wardrobe - all in a room that's 10' by 6'6"!
