Do you ever have dreams about random stuff and then months or years later you 'live' that dream?

It's not deja vu. I remember my dreams well. Except sometimes I remember them as I'm experiencing the thing I dreamed about.

It's always banal stuff, never anything useful that would help me to save a life or get rid of Gordon Brown or anything.

Weird.

I reckon it's something to do with string theory and the 11 universes.

a bit icky isn't it.
thanks though.

I'm back! Well, we officially have the world's most paltry DVD collection - about 10 films, that's it. Mostly kids' stuff so can't really give you any of those, but we do have Night At The Museum - I have no idea where that came from; it's still shrink-wrapped, too! Have you seen it? Is it any good? If it's one you'd like to watch, I can sit DH down one evening to watch it and then post it to you afterwards.

Well I'm no expert but I do like this aspect of physics

As far as I know, the M theory of string theory predicts 11 but the bosonic version is 26....

But then string theory may not even be right - am reading about Loop Quantum Gravity at the moment - when I'm not drooling over the Twilight saga! [grins]

Nevergoogle · 11/01/2010 23:05

why are you pimping me films speedy?

SpeedyGonzalez · 11/01/2010 23:06

Okay you lost me at the 'M' !!

Have been reading 'How The Universe Got Its Spots', which is sort of a not-all that idiotic idiot's guide to cosmology. It's one of those books that I have to read very slowly, but I will hopefully finish it before my 40th birthday (I'm 35!). I am hoping it will give me the grounding to be able to approach string theory - but, based on what you've said, it's most likely that by the time I complete the book string (and perhaps Loop Quantum Gravity) theory will both be considered relics of the past!

Perhaps I should just go back to watching ANTM instead - it's one of those things in life that are comfortingly immutable!

Rofl re pimping! Just trying to boost your viewing possibilities now that you've ditched Sky!

But I apologise profusely for trying to land you with a Ben Stiller film. That was unforgiveable.

oh i see. you loon.
no, no pimping required. we have a healthy dvd supply of suitable arty material thankyou. no ben stiller required here.
unfortunately all of my woody allen collection is on video so we have to look out the old telly for that.

tonight DH and I did the Davina total body workout which was a laugh, and we still have 'an inconvenient truth' to watch soon too.
