Is there a reason I can't put floor tiles on a wall?

big porcelain floor tiles .. thinking of using as splashback too .. any reason that won't work??

Usually the only problem would be the weight - floor tiles tend to be thicker and heavier and often the plaster work on a wall isn't strong enough to take them.

too damn heavy. plaster isn't really all that strong tbh. the floor tile would probably stick initially but you would no doubt have a few problems later on.

you can use them on the wall, although it isnt recommended. if it were a small area like a splashback, i cant really see there would be much problem tbh

Pasterboard walls - NO, brick/plastered walls - YES, you need to PVA wall first, another downside they are harder to cut as they are thicker - just asked a expert

Yes, you can use them on the walls. You can even put it on a plasterboard wall if it's just something small like a splashback. Don't put them on a plasterboard wall if it's an area that will get very wet, like bath or shower. Contact manufacturer or supplier of the tile for info on exactly what type of adhesive to use.

will talk to tiler

go to topps tiles and get bal grip adhesive, best stuff there is on the market. its called grip cause thats what it does.
