I'm meant to be putting a load of washing on (incl Red Ted) and painting my shed. And possibly putting away the non-perishable items I bought in Tescos this morning. I did put the fridge things away.

wiltshirelass · 02/06/2003 16:31

suedonim, you've killed this thread stone dead I'm afraid
steps back in awe, bows low, retreats

breeze · 02/06/2003 16:34

Housework, ironing etc etc.

Crunchie · 02/06/2003 16:55

Working, well sort of in between looking at mumsnet, making tea, faffing organising my families lives, debating where to go on holiday, ringing friends and planning decorating my livin room!!

Oh and wilshirelass, I know what you ean about the nanny thing, it wouldn't have occured to me what ashe looked liked, until a friend told me she didn't employ someone because they were too pretty! Problem is I knew the potential nanny as well!

zebra · 02/06/2003 17:17

Work.
Sorting out my inheritance.
Children are minded by their daddy, today. He'd be so peeved if he knew how much time I was dossing while he's working hard as a childminder.
Answering the doorbell and telling the Bengali girls from down the road that 3yo DS isn't home to come out & play.
Work jobs are running, honest... very slow selections on big files. Today I organised academic papers inbetween Mumsnet arguments and wondering why I get rated as "the most tactful person I know" by friends in real life, but get into so many arguments online. Online must be the only place I dare to say what I truly believe ...LOL.

suedonim · 02/06/2003 17:20

LOL, Wiltshirelass and Bubbly!! It's the first bit of brain work I've done in years and I've finished it - just waiting for it to print out now. I work like a rat when cornered, y'know.

wiltshirelass · 02/06/2003 18:40

well done suedonim!
may I just say that my lovely nanny has just given me a bunch of flowers and a card to thank her for taking her to france! I did point out that she worked very hard and we were delighted to have her there, but altogether now - WHAT A SWEETIE! Don't mind at all that she looks 400 times better than me in a swimsuit (and I am 28 weeks pregnant so what do you expect)!

eidsvold · 02/06/2003 18:54

Sats yr 9 enlish papers/getting dinner etc.

eidsvold · 02/06/2003 18:54

oops that should be english - too many spelling errors seen today

codswallop · 02/06/2003 19:22

oh balls wiltshirelass...I just wanted a bit of goss.
Of course wiltshire men only live their ante or post natal wives.

I once heard of a friend of my brother(!) who was considering sacking his nanny because the child was too keen on her.. Still makes me well up a bit.

Ds's in bed, should be ironing but going to watch spooks with yummy Matthew Mcfadden and have a glass of wine

Frenchgirl · 02/06/2003 21:07

Very boring translation...
I want to go and watch spooks too!!! Never watched the first series but fancy it this time round, especially appealing as I have to finish this stoopid work tonight and have a bad cold and worse head, Help!!!!!

wiltshirelass · 02/06/2003 21:09

why would you sack a nanny if your child was fond of her? I'd sack the nanny if my children weren't fond of her!
but I've never had to sack a nanny. they all love us (ahhhhhhh). in fact one went back to australia after a year as planned and phoned within a fortnight to say that she missed us and came scooting back for another year.
mind you, thanks to codswallop I shall now assume that it is actually my husband they all love and pine for, not my children!

codswallop · 02/06/2003 21:10

I know - lawyers eh?

wiltshirelass · 02/06/2003 21:13

now that is too easy a target, codsw. unfair!

codswallop · 02/06/2003 21:14

sniggers..
thought that would get a rise...

Claireandrich · 03/06/2003 11:04

I am at school in a free lesson. I am supposed to be preparing some differentiated materials for a lesson obs on Thursday but somehow got waylaid - how did that happen? Actualy it is now breaktime and I have a year 8 class next so I guess I need to think about logging off. This is the best bbit about being an IT teacher - easy access to computers, when they work!

Ghosty · 03/06/2003 11:06

Going to bed ....

aloha · 03/06/2003 11:07

I'm going to see my accountant... DON'T WANT TO...

WideWebWitch · 03/06/2003 11:11

I really am supposed to be paying some bills and tidying/cleaning the house. Can't imagine why I'm here instead...

Demented · 03/06/2003 12:38

Supposed to be cleaning up after yesterday's visit by the builders ... arrrrgh! Ironing, making lunch, etc, etc, etc!

DS1 playing outside, DS2 in bed, bliss!

motherinferior · 03/06/2003 12:43

Writing a series of really not very fascinating articles and wishing someone would commission me to eat about cake. Nagging people who haven't got back to me to get back to me. Eating lunch and going to see midwife.

DD is with very lovely childminder, bless them.
