We have to decide by tomorrow whether to book a weeks holiday in The New Forest(AUG)

It would mean staying in a Eurotent with dh, dd (age 6) and ds (3).

Given that we have never been camping before, and it is this country...

should we do it?

Unicorn, honestly don't worry about the waerther,it is all part of the fun, and trust me I am a complete softie!

My tent can withstand 5 meters of rain per square centimeter! Monsoon weather! The Canvas tent we were in stood up to a gale, a real live gale, and we were all fine!

Remember that you don't have to spend all day in the tent. Most campsites will have lots of things to do. you'll probably just be kipping in the tent.

Oh, and sleeping bags nowerdays are very good, the only probelm that we had was over heating!

Custy, yes there is, we didn't use it but there is one morning and afternoon. they also do family nature walks. they have a kids disco each evening (hell but the kids loved it) and they did a talent show as well.

The home page will give you the other sites in the 'chain'. The tent areas are a little way from the central complex. We were in an overspil firld, but had electrical hook ups and water, 5-10 min walk to the main complex.

We had a great time. Lots to do, just on the edge of the new forest and 8 miles from Bournemouth
