re how:

Write a will - there is a section specifically for naming guardians (which is essentially what godparents are).

We've done one.

Contact a solicitor.

When we had ds1 christened we wanted dh's best friend to be a godparent but as he was a different religion (muslim) it wasnt possible to do so officially. The church recognised him though and he was able to help out with the ceromony with out having to make the promises. So he is still ds1's godfather.

I think that getting them a nice certificate and maybe a framed photograph would be a lovely idea.

yeah, spoke to dp about it and he thinks whole christening, wedding in church is two faced, but will support me with my descision...thinks im just doing it to make these people feel good, but im doing it so i know god forbid, should anything happen to either of us, Eve will be cared for like i would do(trigger was keep dreaming people around me are dying of cancer)...

so am thinking of doing something on the anniversary(or close too) her actual christening, cooking a meal for everyone and buying a little gift and certificate?
