chicken casserole-not keen ,ate a bit of meat that's it

she loves chocolate so have stocked up on penguins etc (ds thinks he's died and gone to heaven)

Not even green beans I though all French people ate green beans! Though the French tend to over-cook them...

Spag bol is pretty universal, hope she likes it. Do update with the verdict!

when I lived with a french family we ate a lot of ready meals! And those lovely little vanilla custard pots for desert...yum.

Castille - you are kind of right about the beans..at home, my mum used to cooked them with a bit of butter and one squashed clote (sp ?) of garlic and almost burned...as my dbs and I were fussy eaters, we like it that way ! Hummm garlic

8oreighty- I bet you are talking about Danette !!

The little French boy I used to look after loved veggies - his mother used to tell me she loved having English nannies because we were so focussed on eating vegetables!

Do separate the flavours as mixing them is an acquired taste (one which I'm struggling to reacquire).

Agree with the others though that being in a strange country is difficult and I ate next to nothing when I was working in Belgium or when I ate with my bosses! I still eat next to nothing when with my (French) DH2Bs family. Just serve her small portions and don't make a big deal of it!

Well I hope I am not making a big deal of it. I haven't mentioned it to her at all.

Well dinner tonight I served spag bol , salad and lovely french bread.

She didn't touch the bread or salad but did eat a small portion of spag bol .Also took her to waitrose after school and she said she would like chocolate mousse so hurrah have something to pack in her lunch tomorrow.
