Please help, this smell in my fridge is driving me crazy...

My fridge smells of fish and there is nothing I can do to get rid of it.
The fridge is a year old and one day it just had this awful smell that wafts out and can be stronger some times than others iykwim
I have taken it all out and scrubbed it twice. Cleaned the filter, chopped an onion and even put lemon in there to get rid of the smell.
Anyone that has any idea what it could be I will love and be in debt forever. It is driving me insane!!!!!!!!!!!

Is it a fridge Freezer?

If so could it be something in your freezer?

could any fish have been dropped down the back?

Fishy smells often come from electrical faults - can you get someone to check it out for you?

Bicaronate of soda absorbs a lot of smells

did you clean it out with a solution of bicarbonate of soda?

Also is it one that has a pipe that runs down the back with the condensation water? If so there may be something stuck in there. You can clear it buy blowing hard at the mouth of the pipe (you may need to wedge a straw in there first).

wwb do you mean the smell of ozone? It's not really fishy - more sort of burnt air (like the smell in the air after a storm. In fact it is the smell in the air after a storm). I've never heard of any other smells being caused by electrical faults.

I'm sure Ive come across the fishy smell with an electrical fault before as well.

It smells like tuna, that's the only way I can describe it.

I checked with dh (chartered electrical engineer) in case I was misleading you, and he says that electrical faults can definitely smell fishy.
