Lemonice: Fix that date now!

M&B with nobs in - perfect. I love 'em anyway. I think you either love them or hate them - all 35 of them or whatever it is. What other books do you like Moondog - I'll suggest one I think you might like if you want. Alternatively, have a life and don't start reading them

Ooh,inriguing nightynight ('the world of' thing suggests a slight air of mania eh??)

Acnebride, let me see.......big fan of Zola,Orwell,Kate Atkinson,Garrison Keillor,Tim Moore,Paul Theroux, loads of non fiction, especially grim stuff expounding in detail how we are all oging to be f* by Tescos and Macdonalds..

What are you writing,or is it classified information??

I like jug of iced lemonade I think I will tick that one for today anyway and forego the wine..

I'm a bit shy of spas and pampering publicly...

although www Drakes Hotel does look lovely and I love Brighton (went to Sussex University many moons ago)..

I used to be a big reader but haven't read anything except a newspaper for ages, if you like reading non fiction then I would recommend looking at any of the Latin America bureau books which take your fancy...

I would love a nice lunch..any recommendations in the Midlands..not swanky just pleasant and relaxing would do fine..

I have suggested to dp that we take the afternoon off today together and we are just thinking where to go..a little drive i think..work will be deserted but I will do the essentials first..unless the phone rings no one will know

I love you all..

have a great time lemonice, sorry for continued hijack

ok moondog, either try A Civil Contract or Cotillion, or just possibly An Infamous Army which is very unlike the others. borrow them from the library as the new reissues by Arrow are appallingly edited.

I'm in a creative writing class. Am halfway through chapter 2 of a great work set in 1882. About which time i know nothing.

Have you read The Ragged Trousered Philanthropist by Robert Tressell it is set a bit later early 1900s I think but very emotional and evocative ..

Also New Grub Street by George Gissing

my favourite Georgette Heyer is the Black Sheep.

Ragged Trousered Philanthropists is a must read, esp as most of it is still true today.

Hope you had a nice afternoon lemonice! Tell us!
Thanks ladies,I am about to enter the wonderful world of Georgette Heyer and have made notes of titles...intrigued to know how they could be badly edited. Also other books. To my shame, 'Ragged Trouser Philanthropist' has been on my 'to read' list for ages [shame]

Hope the muse makes her presence felt acnebride (terrible name btw!!! Sure it isn't true!)
