People really will pinch ANYTHING!

Bit of background info so you get the idea - I live in a terraced house with a communal passageway that runs down the back of the houses with a gate at each end. My actual garden is up a few steps and through a locked gate.

The other night I was picking up snails and slugs in the garden with a pair of old kitchen tongs I keep for such jobs. Then I hung them on a little pipe that sticks out of the wall by the back door. Just looked for them to pick up more snails and some t*sser has pinched them! They were rusty, and snail slimed and disgusting - I hope they are using them to turn sausages over and I hope they get very, very ill.

A few years ago I also had my pram ramp pinched - two planks of wood which dh had made a lip for so they fixed onto the doorstep and I could get the pram in. Absolutely no use to anyone except me. Weird.

Sorry Moo! I get so upset too, seems like such a basic thing to learn that no one should touch things that don't BELONG to them--would make the world a much better place.

oh, someone nicked the dog kennel once - but i guess that was more cheeky than nicking something useless - i hope they have a very happy dog now

my glasses from my desk at work. knackered old frames and a very strange lens prescription that cannot have matched anyone else's sight problems.

someone nicked my BBQ last year..... I hadn't cleaned it from DD1's birthday party so I hope they got very ill....... [evil emoticon] I also got a brand new one from my house insurance that is worth a hell of a lot more and very very heavy so noone will get that out easily.

pity really, because dog wont go in the new kennel - so they can HAVE that one

We left a quite disreputable-looking Sammies rabbit rucksack containing one Flat Stanley book, a carton of orange juice (used) and a peperami in it (don't ask) on a train to Chatham over the Easter hols, and it wasn't handed in. I hope they got whatever Moo's tongs-stealer will get if there is any justice.

My hanging basket is wired to the bracket for just this reason - made it very difficult to replant this summer. My troughs and pots of flowers have stayed put (I've got several in the passageway bit) but that may be because I used half bricks in the bottom for drainage and offputting heaviness.

We used to have a huge pot with a tree in the front garden, when we came back from a trip we found that somebody had pinched it but was nice enough to leave the tree in the garden. I still can't imagine how did they transport it...

when i lived in southampton someone nicked our roof rack

we left our sofa on the front garden to take it to the dump the next day, and someone nicked it overnight! little did they know we were getting rid of it because the cat had repeatedly peed on it!

My specs have been stolen
A wooden bird feeder was stolen
DH once had a broken vacuum cleaner stolen from the house he used to rent out, and the daft bugger who stole it tried to flog it to the neighbours for a fiver!!!!

A friend had his newly-planted rose bushes nicked from his garden. When he took his dog for a walk he spotted them, replanted in someone's garden! Whenever he saw the culprit he used to ask how his roses were doing and the bloke used to say, 'Fine mate, looking really good!'

A reverse of stealing and incomprehensible someone has nailed up a piece of chipboard over some holes where the wood on our backyard gate had rotted at the bottom and screwed another piece of wood across the garage doors where they are padlocked in the middle and (presumably the same person) had already put a second padlock on the garage doors in addition to our one which we will have to saw off in order to get into the garage..??!!

a little different but my best friend was living in a shared flat in a nice area with all working people (no poor students) and one of the girls stole her thongs from the dryer and they were thin string style ones.
EEEEWW - she found out who it was as one day she was emptying the washing machine and found one and knew it was hers as they were a brand at that time that was only sold in NZ.

Someone stole my 3 wheeler push chair in the park and dumped all our stuff behind some bushes. We saw them with it but they had removed the hood and said it was theirs - they looked too rough to argue with. DD was distraught because LaLa was in the basket but we found it in the bushes!! Some people are beyond excuses.

We had a stone bird bath removed from our back garden early last summer and our black container for paper recycling.

When I was in hospital having dd,the porters would come round every night counting the fans and tvs as these walked regularly.
My parents live in Saudi,and for all its faults,my father loves the fact that he can be fixing his car,go in for lunch,leaving all his tools on the grass verge,come back an hour later and they're still there....

The communal kitchen at work was burgled one weekend - they could get acces to that but not the office itself. I can understand the microwave going and I suppose even the manky kettle, but they also took things like half a jar of peanut butter, half a box of tea bags, some sugar cubes... didn't like marmite or tinned sardines though.

Must have had the munchies,oil.
