I'm finally going to give in and buy a dryer. Ok, the fresh air and wind is great, but i can never get things to dry on demand and my radiators are always covered with drying clothes.

Anyone have a condensor dryer? Do they get as hot as other dryers?

If you have one, what brand have you got? Is it a good one?

Do you have convenient access to a waste drain mdww ?

mamadadawahwah · 27/05/2005 00:04

no unfortunately i dont. The dryer will be underneath a window, diagonal from the sink/drain.

diagonally opposite you mean ?

Is it your own home ? ie could you drill a 15mm hole for a pipe ? Is their a drain gully on the other side close by per chance ? Or a gravel bed / soil ? (The machines don't produce buckets of water like a washing machine does)...

Yea, as it happens, there is a drain just outside. I suppose i could do that. But actually after reading about all the fuss with teh condensors, it might just be easier to just put the vent out the window.

If it is your own house and you can drill a hole like H2D suggests then you don't even need a condenser dryer. We have a rear venting dryer and the pipe goes into the wall and vents straight to the outside (nowhere near a drain by the way, doesn't need to be).

I love my Zanussi one. You have to empty the water out periodically but its not that much hassle. Listen to Hub2dee though, he is the oracle of washer/dryers!
