  • I'll ask DH he brought his spear with him when we came to the UK - likes to spear the cats that come into our garden (and also the same spear he'll teach the boys to catch 'big cats' and buffalo with)

You need one of the new modern Telescopic Spears, rather cunnigly disguised as a Rabbit. One press of a button and they spring from Rabbit sized to a full length spear.

Don't get it confused with your real rabbit though.

gscrym · 23/05/2005 11:20

Couldn't you get a snooker cue with spear attachment. Useful for big game and beer garden hunting.

emily05 · 23/05/2005 11:27

trouble is - would this help if there was a triffid invasion?

WigWamBam · 23/05/2005 11:29

She could cunningly disguise it as a walking stick.

Spacecadet · 23/05/2005 11:31

wouldnt she be better off with an air rifle or better still a 12 bore shot gun, only prob though is the kick back isquite large so if we are talking asmall child here shewill prob lose an eye when she tries to shoot anything, quite heavy too, better a rifle i think, but you will also need to conceal ameat cleaver too, she needs to chop up her freshly killed prey.

Caligula · 23/05/2005 11:34

Guffaw!

Oh God, this is so out of hand.

But irresistable.

TakeOff · 23/05/2005 11:35

Oh well never mind if they lose an eye - goes with the territory I guess......

Spacecadet · 23/05/2005 11:35

what you really need for skinning and gutting is a very sharp knife, so if she manages to get one of those through security, she could lash it to a stick and it could double as a spear.

gscrym · 23/05/2005 11:45

Losing an eye and wearing an eye patch is survivalist chic! That along with baby fatigues and she'll look just darling!

E-mail the people who make Swiss army knives, they may have a folding arsnel of weapons that would be just would you need, compact but deadly.

Spacecadet · 23/05/2005 12:14

Maybe we should get ray Mears involved in a national campaign to ensure that all children of school age are taught survival skills.
