I don't think it is for any of us to critisise. You don't know what her medical circumstances are. I personally am very pleased for her after her past loss.

SoupDragon · 07/05/2003 21:41

I agree with JulieF.

WideWebWitch · 08/05/2003 00:34

Oh come on, no-one said they weren't pleased for her, just that age alone shouldn't be a reason for 'resting' during pregnancy at 38! She's pregnant, not ill and I expect Lil's right - one ectopic pregnancy surely doesn't mean 'lie down next time you're pregnant'. Does it? If anyone does wants to debate the future of the monarchy though, do start a thread, I'm sure there'll be some takers

sibble · 08/05/2003 03:40

Am still trying to work out how she got pregnant, thought Edward was gay!

Claireandrich · 08/05/2003 08:52

The reason she is 'resting' is that she lost her first pregnancy to an ectopic pregnancy, and has gone through more than one form of fertility treatment in order to get pregnant this time. So, like most mums to be in this situation, she has been told to take it easy.

elliott · 08/05/2003 09:15

claireandrich, can't say I've been given any special instructions to rest...that's not to say I haven't been grabbing every opportunity to slump on the sofa and fall asleep!!
Come to think of it, didn't notice Cherie doing too much 'resting'....

The fact is she's probably feeling like s* and puking half the day, but they don't want to tell us that, do they? 'Resting' sounds so much more delicate!

cairoqueen · 08/05/2003 17:33

Sibble, Special Branch are on their way to your house right now to take you to the Tower. Traitors Gate for you girl!

gosh2 · 08/05/2003 17:44

For all we know, sibble prob is special branch - hence accurate source of factual information.

tinyfeet · 08/05/2003 19:29

sibble · 08/05/2003 19:45

blimey my cover is rumbled

Nerthus · 09/05/2003 18:07

Sibble - if you believe the goss, half the British royalty/nobility are gay - they've got to 'perform' and produce an heir, then they can have it away with discreet bits-on-the-side ever afterwards... see Kitty Kelley's 'The Royals' for assorted bits of tittle-tattle, smut and scandal on the subject!

doormat · 09/05/2003 19:21

I am not keen ot the royal but congratulations to Sophie. She has been through enough with the ectopic pregnancy. Hey she may even post on mumsnet and need our advise.

Her first post could be.
Help MIL thinks she owns the place?
