My first thoughts were James and William (and then had a sneaky dalliance with Arthur).

handlemecarefully · 09/05/2005 11:51

Yes, I think James works too

hermykne · 09/05/2005 11:56

QueenEagle · 09/05/2005 12:04

SoupDragon · 09/05/2005 12:26

James was the first thing that sprang to my mind when reading the thread title.

Gobbledigook · 09/05/2005 12:28

It's got to be James! I've got a James and I think it's lovely!!

Twiglett · 09/05/2005 12:29

if she had been a boy of course, it would be a silly name for a girl

starlover · 09/05/2005 12:32

I think William is FAB!

Isaac William

Fimbo · 09/05/2005 12:36

Joseph
Luca/Lucas/Luke
Andrew

I think names starting with a consonant sound better, so that the 'c' at the end of isaac doesn't run into the front of the next name and make it sound like the first sound of the 2nd name, IYSWIM.

juniperdewdrop · 09/05/2005 12:42

Funny I thought of James too earlier, think it goes really well. Plus my bro is James

piffle · 09/05/2005 13:03

Lawrence

tortoiseshell · 09/05/2005 13:05

Peter. Isaac means laughter, and Peter means rock, so it describes someone who is full of laughter, but strong and dependable too, not just frivolous!

suedonim · 09/05/2005 13:30

I know an Isaac Llewelyn! But I also think James is lovely.

milge · 09/05/2005 13:39

My first reaction was James, but how about Benjamin - Isaac Benjamin sounds good too.

Miaou · 09/05/2005 13:46

Wow, how weird ... when I saw the thread title I immediately thought - Isaac James!

Isn't it spooky how many of us have said James?

If you go for a two-syllable name then you have a nice rhythm going. And I would suggest going for a name that doesn't begin with a vowel, otherwise when you say the full name out loud it will sound quite "gutteral"

That said, I have no other suggestions than to add to the list of Jameses

WestCountryLass · 09/05/2005 17:51

Hehehe, I thought James too!

bonym · 09/05/2005 18:21

James is good, or John. Something with one syllable anyway. If you want something unusual I think Isaac Blue sounds cool!

DS says Sir Isaac Newton's other name was James

SO perhaps that is why

I just asked what name goes with Isaac and he came out with that, so there you go
