We're expats and my son has never lived in England, other than visiting for a few weeks every summer. I've been thinking about sending him on a one weeks summer camp. He is 9 years old and likes anything sporting and outdoors. Any recommendations?

just read about summer camps in today's Telegraph.

I don't have any recommendations - but would be interested if anyone else had any

I did see the article in the Dt too. Was not thinking to send him this year at that point, but thought maybe a week would be a good idea to get him started and then maybe go for 2 weeks next year.I think he would love it, but it's just choosing the right one for him.

My daughter went on a PGL pony trekking plus multi-activity holiday at Borreaton Park when she was 9yo. She loved it - came back very confident and had made some great friends as well as having experienced a huge variety of activities.

She's going back again this year (12yo now), to do just the riding part.

Friends' children have been to Glod holidays. It's a christian-based organisation though so it depends how you feel about daily prayers/bible study (not sure what they do, tbh).

I second the PGL idea.

I worked on various camps for them for 3 years. They are great fun and have loads of stuff for kids to do.

Thanks for the info. Know PGL through my time as a MFL teacher in UK. Will have a look at their program. Any ideas on Camp Beaumont and ATE? Thx
