where to buy toddler shoes SE London?

need to get new shoes for DD1 (she is nearly 3)- anyone got any recommendations for where to go to get her measured and have a good choice? I'm in SE London, Herne Hill (between brixton and dulwich, not far from streatham either) - haven't been here long and don't know where to go...

Pares Shoes in Blackheath Village.
People swarm from miles around. Good range of Start-Rite, Ricosta, Elefanten, some Clarks. It's not the cheapest place to shop but the service is good and it is worth a visit.

lordship lane in east dulwich there's a big shoe shop which does clarks shoes (and foot measurements)

Lordship Lane shop is nice, but Pares shoes is Shoe Paradise. Both the Inferiorettes adore it.

Mind you, DD1 once had to be forcibly parted from a purple suede pointy-toe shoe in Hobbs, aged 18 months - it was hilarious, if tragic for her.

yep, Pares are great and sometimes have good sales too - can try the shoes out on the heath afterwards.

have you been to webster's in brixton? choice isn't fantastic (mainly clarks) but it is a thorough painstaking service - therefore slow so go early in the day!

I use Pares in Blackheath too-they have a great range.

Fine - glad to have escaped the endless stretch of SE London and great to be on the verge of rolling countryside, but still really miss B'heath - village shops, gorgeous architecture and the heath! been back a few times though which was nice. Out west - life is.. different, more humdrum and grown-up somehow! How goes it for you? (sorry to hijack shoe thread, BTW)

Sadly, last time we went there wasn't anything for me, which I always consider the flipside of having annoyingly small feet.

I used to manage a bank in Blackheath and I too love the village-Pares is good but very strange manageress there!!

last time I went in the shoe shop in E. Dulwich they had the most adorable shoes for little girls .. Italian leather, bright colours, fabulous designs .... £50

£50 for a 2 year old's shoes????

The grown-up Pares round the corner has a cracking sale with loads of smaller adult shoes MI...not forgetting a dive in to Handmade Food for something tasty for lunch back home.

WOW - I turned around to wipe some baby puke from my shoulder and have a sandwich and get back to some great suggestions and the Blackheath appreciation society !!!

Will try the one in Lordship Land and maybe Websters in Brixton first - Pares sounds pricey and I'm a skinflint at heart . Although the fudge and cakes in Blackheath are almost swaying me....

Where on Lordship land should I be looking? (don't ever remember a kids shoe shop along there [scratching head emoticon])

if you go up towards Soup Dragon its on the opposite side of the road and a little bit further up (towards the police station)

what you can do, is get child's feet measured there then pop along to the Clarks factory outlet in Peckham (always mean to do that but just end up buying them in the shop)
