I've always rather liked Nicolas Cage (pre Captain C) in the plane film when he wore a nice dirty vest!

I'll also admit to Alan Davies (Jonathan Creek) don't know why, perhaps he needs mothering?

I know what you see in Mr Meyer - he has a lovely voice you could listen to for ever. I think Victoria was killed by the young girl, although we are supposed to suspect Guy!

Does anyone remember John Boy from The Waltons? As a youngster I thought he was absolutely gorgeous!

I was once treated by a handsome young GP (fortunately not for anything embarressing) but I didn't feel too comfortable with it. I prefer either a woman or older man for a doctor.

Jac · 17/05/2001 13:09

I thought the opposite Jewel. I think they are trying to make it obvious that it's the girl? I have this weird notion that Mr Meyer is really Victoria's father!! a bit soapesque I know...

I heard or read a story that a woman went to the doctors and wanted to make herself smell nice but instead of a perfume spray she sprayed herself with a glitter spray! Glittery pubes, poor bloke!

Marina · 18/05/2001 10:04

I think it was the girl. They wouldn't waste rising star Sheridan Smith on a role like this unless she was key to the plot, that's my suspicion. It cannot have been scenery-chewing Guy. How much is that man over-acting?

Tusky · 01/06/2001 22:16

ok - here's my list : Christopher Eccleston (Jude,
Our Friends in the North,Cracker among others)-is my top fave (it's a sad fact that I have a drawer full of pics and articles about him), Dev in Corrie, Dr Alex in Holby (not Guy, yuck),Dr Matt in Corrie (doctors again !), Drs Greene and Carter in ER. I really loved Spaced and liked Brian best of all,Tim is too pale for me !As for
Robbie Williams,Brad Pitt Tom Cruise etc they do absolutely nothing for me.

Sylvev · 02/06/2001 14:20

I've often been told I have peculiar tastes! However, I do rather like John Hurt. There is something rather sexy about his 'lived-in' looks and I think he has a wonderful voice. Also, Anthony Hopkins, Richard Burton and, I know it sounds strange, Captain Scarlet!! And, just to prove that I am not totally back in the 70's, I also think Dr. Kovac on ER is lovely.

What about Kevin Costner in "No way out" and Tom Cruise in "Top Gun", (also starring Val Kilmer as Iceman and Anthony Edwards/Dr Greene as Goose). I admit that the main link is that they are in uniform but maybe we are getting back to the reason why usually white-jacketed TV doctors are popular!

Jodee · 02/06/2001 17:11

Not another TV doctors groupie! Forget them, what about TV Vets? Steve Leonard - drool, drool.

Loola · 03/10/2001 16:28

Rik Mayall - I'd just absolutely beg for the chance to spend some 'quality' time with him. He's so funny and sooooooo sexy.

Others secondary to that would have to be:-

The Man leaping out of the sea in the Davidoff advert (all that groin......)
Virgil (Thunderbird 2 - I DON'T UNDERSTAND EITHER, DON'T ASK)
Glenn Tilbrook - lead singer of Squeeze, I've loved him for over 20 years!!!!
Tupac Shakur (bit too late though, sadly)
John Thaw (for the older man, wouldn't thank you for Sean Connery at all as most of my mates think)
Hughie Morgan from the Fun Lovin' Criminals makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.

etc. etc. etc.

Jbr · 03/10/2001 17:03

Oooh, don't get me started on Rik Mayall! I wouldn't say no even if he's got a bit porky recently LOL! Seriously I am not interested in aesthetics particularly, it was just a shock to see how much weight he seems to have put on since his accident. Hope he's ok. If it is just fat, and not because of illness, I am sure I could put him through a vigorous exercise programme...

Tigermoth · 04/10/2001 09:07

Loola, if you fancy bumping into Glen Tilbrook, I can point you in the right direction. I used to live in Greenwich, his home area. He's very active in the local music scene, and I used to see him quite frequently in our music pubs and at other events. Knowning we were selling our small house, he came to look round it. He's a great guy, with no airs and graces, and very easy to talk to.

Loola · 04/10/2001 15:06

OH MY GOD, TIGERMOTH, I CAN'T BELIEVE IT.

OK here's a question, if you met the man of your dreams (such as Glenn) what state do you honestly think you'd be in, what would you say etc.???

I'd probably just lose all control of my bladder and then be forced to make a quick exit.

POINT AWAY TIGERMOTH, ADDRESS, TELEPHONE NUMBER ETC. PS. Has he got a girlfriend/wife or is my other half right about his....persuasion

Marina · 04/10/2001 15:16

I'm sorry Loola, there's a queue. Down girl! Us SE Londoners get first pickings, there has to be some compensation for living where the tube doesn't go. Tigermoth, can you also locate Paul Jones for me please.

Tigermoth · 04/10/2001 15:56

Loola, The music listings for Greenwich will often feature Glenn Tilbrook. The Mordon Pub in Brand Street, Greenwich, is also a good place to start, not for serious Glenn spotting, since he isn't a regular drinker there, but it is second home to lots of Greenwich music people. Sometimes Glenn does an informal turn at their gigs, held at nearby venues, or just joins the audience. The Mordon will display posters of these forthcoming events.

A great event for dedicated Glenn spotters is the Hope Festival. It is organised by Greenwich musicians and held on a campsite near Bodium Castle in Kent, usually the first week of June. Although it has grown in recent years from an informal group of campers to a nearly proper festival of over 1,000 people, it is still quite intimate. Glenn is much in evidence there, along with the lead singer of the band Dodgy, also a Greenwich person.

I am not a close personal friend of Glenn's. We were on nodding, passing-the-time-of-day, bumping into each other acquaintance - he's probably forgotten me now! My husband is much more up with the Greenwich music scene and knows Glenn a little better. We are both friendly with his female manager. I will ask dh for more Glenn information and let you know. I have seen him with a long term girlfriend, but this this was some years ago now, and I believe they have parted.

Marina, Paul Jones is Manfred Mann, right? If so, his house looks onto Greenwich Park. It is situated on the road that leads down from Blackheath towards Maze Hill station. A friend of ours dated his son.

And if anyone out there hankers after the The Alabama 3, my dh is an old friend of Jake Black, one of their lead singers!

Pie · 04/10/2001 18:07

John Cusack...I am a complete pushover for that man..

Bells2 · 05/10/2001 07:14

What about lovely Monty Don the gardener. Lovely dark curly hair and he looks so tall dark and handsome! Am I being sad?

OP posts:
Loola · 05/10/2001 11:31

But Rhiannon, he never smiles, does he? Really quite sad sort of bloke. Any way, Tigermoth the information is fantastic, Glen and I were destined to be together. Marina, I'LL SEE YOU OUTSIDE FOR A PUNCH UP - HE'S MINE, I'VE LOVED HIM FOR........WELLL........EVER!!! Actually it would do me the power of good after the week I have had;- did me back in, had a phone bill of £477 and my calls were only £15, my 5-yr old son has been 'grounded' as far as he can be and I am desperate for the weekend. I reckon Glenn's new album in the background while I do the washing up and the entire First Series of Bottom for my weekly fix of Rik with a big mug of tea and a chip buttie should sort me out!

Emmagee · 05/10/2001 18:36

No Rhiannon, not sad at all, he's lovely! How about Jude Law anyone? I wanted (half seriously) to call our son Jude in his honour, husband drew the line. Weirdly though, Jude Law called his son, born couple of weeks after mine, Rafferty, strange coincidence!

Rhiannon · 05/10/2001 21:44

Emmagee that's spooky as it's v.unusual.

Tom Hanks I love Tom Hanks, what about Michael Owen don't you think he has a steely determination in his eye for one so young I think it shows a bit of well......kinkiness in one so young

Selja · 07/11/2001 11:40

I'm afraid Michael Owen is a little too young looking for me but Francesco Totti (Italian captain) now that would be different - got a weakness for italians had a crush on Alberto Tomba (skier) when I was younger. I say too young but that Shane out of Westlife - he's quite cute. I keep having dreams about Peter Reid the Sunderland manager - I tell myself its because I see a lot of him (dh a Sunderland fan) but its rather worrying. Would rather have dreams about Enrique Iglesias (that latin thing again), Mel Gibson, Goran Ivaniesevic, Alan Hansen oh and loads more!

Chanelno5 · 07/11/2001 13:49

I agree, Michael Owen is probably a bit too young for me also (not that I have a problem with toy boys however, far from it, chance would be a fine thing!) My current fav is Russell Crowe, only in Gladiator though - now I wouldn't mind doing a couple of rounds with him in the amphitheatre.

Jenny2998 · 11/11/2001 13:22

Ewan McGregor does it for me...
