That's basically about it, does anyone else work the same or more hours a week whilst attending full time college?

My son will be 3 in June and I have just got a job from 5-7pm Mon-Frid I would also like to go to college to do an NQ in Business this year, but I'm afraid I just won't see my son much at all and that he will hate me for it as it means he will basically eb in childcare everyday through the week.

I live with his dad too so he will pick him up after he finishes work at 4.30pm and I can just go straight to work, although I know somedays I will be able to finsih college earlier and get a few hours with DS before work.

SOrry for rambling, blame my mother! Apparently it'#s not the done thing to 'abandon' your children for selfish reasons

I attend full time university and work between 18-30 hours a week. So far my sons have not exhibited any signs of hatred towards me!

( although I am knackered and quite often feel guilty about it and hate myself)

Oh dear Q (name too long for this time of morning ) That's what I am afraid of but in the long run if I start at the bottom with college now then by the time he goes to school I should have more skills to get a better job thus providing a better future.

Oh it's all so cofusing. I think I am just going to start with NQ in Admin, I've only ever worked in cvhildcare so my skills are quite limited and am terrified of college now LOL.

I am a full time student midwife and I do uni hours and shifts. Only the normal levels of tears and tantrums for my two to report! I don't feel guilty or hate myself (perhaps I am a horrible person) but I love what I do and I don't like being a full time mum. I think kids want happy parents tbh.

Look- it is hard (im literally crawling towards the finishing line now!)

I started college one day a week when Ds1 was 4 and Ds2 was just 1 - I worked 30 hous a week alongside college for the next two years until I started University in 2006.

Since then I have worked various hours to fit in around university and placements, its not easy and I do feel guilty but the days that we spend together as a family etc, I ensure are spent doing 'fun' things.

Make your weekends special (if of course you are not sat at a pc doing a assignment!) and if you finish work at 7pm, perhaps make a deal with your DS that as soon as you come in, you read him a bedtime story (sorry if that sounds patronising)

Dont beat yourself up about it. Good luck!

Not patronising Q, just what I needed to hear actually
