For me traveling cost quite a lot...didn't do the normal backpacking round the world when left college/uni but different trips at different times so actually cost a fortune but paid for it all myself

Had I met dh earlier than I did this might have made a difference!!! Traveling made up for not having anybody in my life

Had dd at 35

Between 30 and 35 I did a LOT of travelling, my career really took off and I got a dog and got used to having to be a bit more responsible.

I am a couple of weeks away from the big 40. My 20s were a hoot, my 30s were taken with marriage (to the wrong guy ) and having three wonderful children - as I approach my 40s I realise that I have done too much of what everyone else expects of me and not enough of what I want!!! - bit philosophical sorry!!
I have now got my soulmate and he is wonderful. I wanted to learn to ride a motorbike and play a guitar - i have one on the wall and one in the garage.
I am looking forward to my 40s .....

I'm 40 in November and looking back on my 30's my life has changed so much so looking forward I wonder what is going to happen ... I have gone from being an independent career woman to a sahm of 2 pre-schoolers. I am now applying to return to work on a p/t basis and taking a college course in Sept as my eldest starts school full time. I hve no regrets but wish I had met mt dh sooner and stopped wasting my time with losers as I would have liked maybe 1 more baby.

motherofboys · 23/04/2005 11:41

Not too late for that 3rd?! No what you mean about time wasted with loosers - but at least we have our Mr Rights now eh?

eidsvold · 23/04/2005 14:18

2002 - aged 32 moved from Aus to the UK to live and work ( knew no one) made some fab friends, met and married dh, had dd1 and conceived dd2, did a little travelling - including back to aus three times. Last year moved back to Aus aged 36 and had dd2.

One regret but not really - when I consider what I have in place of it - was not getting to Gallipoli. But intend to take my two dds there for the centenary of landing of anzacs during WW1.

not afraid to tell my mother I'm not taking her crap instead of just getting nasty and letting myself down by rising to her bait
