After reading this this morning, I have decided that we could do with a Twat Of The Week thread. I'm not sure if it has been done before, and apologies if it has, but I think there are many contenders, male, female, sleb or "civilian"...

So post your suggestions and votes here and we will announce the winner of a huge virtual turd from MN every, ooh, Saturday night...

Although given all the rl stalking from ex's /rl friends etc that goes on on here perhaps we shouldn't include mumsnetters partners. It could horribly backfire.

I think the thing is one has to remember there is ALWAYS 3 sides to a story.

your side, their side and then the truth.

Whilst I wont defend the guy that fucked off to NZ, I think this is a step too far.

I knew a dad who commoted suicide b/c the CSA took 45% of his earnings.

the CSA in their day were ruthless, and whilst he may be a idiot, if we heard his side we might think differently, I appreciate the need to defend your fellow lady, but please try to remember the other side

My problem with him though isn't about sneaking out of maintenance (I've got an ex who pays nowt myself, and like you say, he has his reasons), but the fact this guy is so selfish as to drop the bombshell on his kids with two hours notice, after apparently bragging about it on a radio talkshow ....so three sides or not, he still qualifies IMO.

you are right there, the way he done it is very wrong, but it sounds to me he wanted to cause maximmum upset, a final parting gift in a weird way.

but if it was b/c of the money he may of been being crippled by the CSA, though he could of just quit his job

Actually Nabster they made it so you can phone up on the day @ 8.30 in the morning and get appointments that day.

it has drastically improved our local surgery, you could never get an appointment for at least 2 weeks.

now as long as you dont ring late, and by late I mean 8.35 you will get a appointment, so I think it was a good move

Aeschylus, it was my ex-p who is the twat who buggered off to NZ.......the csa were taking £127 per month from him his 2 children. He had a lovely 2 bed flat full of musical equipment ie computers, laptops all the stuff for creating music electronically, he had several holidays abroad every year(but he never took the children) and went to watch at least one formula one race abroad every year too. I had previously written to the csa begging asking them to reduce his monthly payments from £400 odd quid because he said he would be forced to move back to his family in Suffolk, which i didnt think was in the best interest of the kids.....They took my letter into account but he never saw the kids anymore or contributed more than the bare minimum on a financial, or emotional/physical level, despite being a 20 minute car drive away.....if he was really on the poverty line, he could have sold some of his music stuff, cut back on the hols or whatever......
