Hi It is called child modelling Jan 2009. Sorry you've been waiting a while i only noticed your request whilst looking for the thread again myself.

Hi, I know nothing about child modelling and not really taking it seriously sent a few pictures of my 2 year old son to Elizabeth Brown and have just been offered a contract. They want £175 to put photos that I have to pay for on there site. I do live an hour and a half by train from London, does anyone have any advice please

2ManyPimms · 15/07/2009 16:34

Shaxdix - Take a look at the Jan 2009 modelling thread. There is a lot of info among the chat about various agencies. I've paid about £110 for model book photos (only because I am so pants at taking pictures) but my son's agency, Bruce and Brown, would be very happy with any reasonable photos that I took myself. They do not charge an up-front fee or require "professional photos" in order to be included on their books.

2ManyPimms - Thanks for that. I have tried Bruce and Brown but they are not taking any children on until Sep. Elisabeth Brown have said that as I am only available to take my son 3 days a week it probably isnt worth the £175 outlay. How have you found it, are you busy with it and is it reasonably flexible?

allyfe · 28/07/2009 11:22

Hi Shaxdix, most people aren't that busy with child modelling, it depends on the child and agency. I'd say from reading other people's posts then you are doing well if you have one job a month. And modelling isn't flexible, you have to be flexible. You will generally get a call the day before a casting, and then will be given a selection of dates which the shoot might be on. A lot of mums do work part time, but if you have fixed days then it might be hard. But others might disagree. If you post on the jan 2009 thread you might get some different views. Good luck with it all! ally

shaxdix you probably mean the Elizabeth Smith agency, there are other agencies that you can apply to, have a read of the January 2009 thread.

Hi

I have been with BIZZYKIDZ for over a year. I handed over £120 for so called website administration fee. My child has not been offered one job to date despite their initial enthusiasm that there would be some work to at least cover the initial cost. It is far too easy for them to make blind promises & to rob you of your money. I would like to hear from anyone that has paid money to Bizzykidz without any work. It is far too easy money for them. For those that have received similar experiences from Bizzykidz please contact me [email protected]

Kayra · 24/01/2011 23:54

There is no way Bizzykidz would tell you your child would get work to cover set up costs at all. They stress to every parent that work is not guaranteed, and it is completely up to the client which children they choose for jobs! Have u even updated your childs profile? (New pics, height, development etc.) If not, your child will go inactive on their systems & it does state this in the T&Cs when you would have joined.
I think Bizzykidz are fab.. even though we live in Durham, we are willing to travel for such a fantastic agency.
To be honest, I know as a parent of a child with them & talking online with loads of other parents with children signed with them too, that no promises would have been made and no such thing about covering costs would have been said. Tut tut....
