Rhiannon is a name I've started to like a lot recently, but it came into my head too late to call my daughter it, so it's my fantasy name!

Emmam, (definitely not EM), glad to hear there is another two year old little boy out there called chicken! Unbelievably now I look back at it, my mother called my little sis "Fanny" (apparently because she read Michael Sadleir's Victorian novel "Fanny by Gaslight" when she was pregnant) for several years until a rough little boy at primary school took it upon himself to tell her what else the name meant. My sister was so angry I thought she'd explode. It made me glad I'd got away with Tatum, which is saying something.

i call mine possum (from dame edna) and also flower - boys too - i shall have to watch myself as they get bigger (not much danger of either boy becoming a rev or a dr though!)

Emmam, my son gets called by all sorts of names, mostly foodie ones - pickle, chicken, pumpkin pie, sausage! He is one confused 14 month old I think.

BTW, my nickname is a boring variation on my first name and surname too, ho hum.

It's actually a little embarrassing when I see my terms of endearment in black and white! For my son, "chicken/chick" is also a favourite (I put this down to having lived in Birmingham for several years, its very popular there). Also, "Billy Bundle" (his name isn't Billy); "Chipmonk"; "Mr. Monkey"; "Pidgey-pie".

My daughter was known as "Baboo" as a baby; "Bundle of Boo"; "Booey"; "Chick";
"snuffle"; "Tinker-bear".

I'm just off to check my age and sanity!

My baby is noodle or, rather disturbingly, polpot - she was lollypop but it got condensed and she's such a tyrant it seemed appropriate. Should probably drop it before it sticks????

I call my 6 year old son Pookie can't remember why and my daughter Dill (I presume it came from the Rugrats).

Jac,
Have just read your msg from ages ago! Yes, that's me to a tee - blonde and fizzy - glad you didn't say 'dizzy'though, or I'd have to hurt you!

My daughter got 'Baby-girl' for the 1st 6 months of her life, to the point when a lady at the baby clinic asked if I'd not chosen a name for her yet!
But now the toddler names are out in force - 'stinker', 'horror', 'tinker' and 'monkey' somehow sum up a 18 month old so well.....!!

Penguinsmum · 06/06/2001 13:50

Well, as you may have guessed, we call DD Baby Penguin! This started because while I was pregnant my mum knitted a Pingu and someone else gave us a teddy bear, so we used to refer to our unborn baby as Pingubear. I guess if we ever have a son he'll be Baby Bear...!

As someone else said, this does look a bit strange when you actually write it down.
