February half term - so what are you all doing then?

Facing the usual challenge to keep the dcs amused during feb half term compounded by fact that they range in age from 3 to 12 yrears and that i work and have non driving nanny!!

Considering train to museums, parks ( if no rain!), sports, swimming etc.

What are you doing ?

Please come and inspire me......

every school holiday we either have to visit my family or dh's (we alternate) because we live nowhere near them
I would love to jus stay at home and chill out
it is a pita

Saturday - party
Sunday chill out
Monday - see a friend
Tuesday - hopefully go and see Bolt
Wednesday - desperate hunt for school shoes and haircut depending on whether I can be arsed
Thurs and Fri I am at work so dh will take over, probably go shopping, maybe swimming, maybe to see Bolt if we didn't already go, continue the desperate hunt ofr shoes and a haircut

DH and older kids off to Gibraltar for 5 days, so its just me and my 1 year old. Bliss!

dh is apparently considering the London acquarium for a day trip on train

My girl's signed up for a ballroom dancing class (free!) Monday and Tuesday, so that gives me some time to myself then. Not I grudge being with her, but it's nice to use my leave on things I would book leave for if I didn't have to cover school hols IYSWIM. Rest of week, pack her and DH off to Grandma's!

Lovely - you are all doing a nice selectino of things - london aquarium, gibralatar ( wow!).

Thanks for reminding me about haricuts - that's somehting that needs to be done!!!

prob a trip to a farm at some point, will see if there are any other activities going on locally.

Anything other than stay in the house with them!

Buying school shoes and lunch out, taking Grandma and Grandad.
Cinema
Meeting with friends, prob soft play or farm park
Swimming
Going to get her big (half) sister and a picnic or something in our campervan on the way back.

Ds (age 9) is having a friend for a sleepover Monday night. Still trying to think of where to take them on Tuesday.
Other than that we are hoping to spend a lot of time in the local woods walking the dog and building dens, we will go swimming one day, we have the dentist booked (argh), we need to get haircuts organised and they probably both need new school shoes so will do that aswell.
And the rest of the time will be spent just relaxing, I am sooooo looking forward to it

FANTASTIC!! Just watched the trailer online, it looks fab.
Do you think it will appeal to a 10yo, a 9.5yo and a 6yo?
If so that is my sleepover activity - a trip to the cinema complete with popcorn
What do you think??

Hippo - my 8 year old DD and another girl went to see Bolt on Saturday and then a sleepover at her friends house.

DD was well chuffed

5 y/o DS hasn't seen Bolt yet so DH said he'd take him in half term and DD chipped in magnanimously that she "wouldn't mind" seeing it again .

For some reason I have agreed to the girls inviting all the girls in their classes (and one or two boys) to come and watch HSM3 on Monday and have lunch. That will be about 20 children but I rarely have their friends to tea in term time as I work. I figure this is equivalent to a terms worth of tea invitiations!

(I was fretting over finding something to do that was suitable for two Y5 boys but also appealed to 6 year old dd)

I've ended up with a fairly busy week:

Monday: Park with friends, DS best friend back for tea.
Tuesday: Dentist
Wednesday: Going to an eco-house and meeting a friend after (maybe softplay/maybe park)
Thursday: Friends to play/lunch, eye hospital in the afternoon
Friday: TBA

Hippo we took DDs to see Bolt before Christmas while in the U.S.A. They are 9 & 7 and loved it!! I quite enjoyed it actually!!
