Insurance claim question: Bleach removed from slate tiles..? Possible

Im at the start of a possible insurance claim.
Our washing machine is leaking and it started while on a descaling wash. The descaler was one from Tesco and basically is powder you out into an empty drum to clean it out. I also treated the powder drawer with an anti mould spray which contains active bleach.

Now the leaked washer has left a mark on my tiles.
The tiles are genuine slate (not imitation) and are now a light black/dk grey colour and now with the beach certain areas are lighter still...

My insurance company have sent out chemdry to assess and to rectify and I have been advise its best to go via insurance as their call out fee is £100 (my excess) so treatment will free iykiwm...

If they can't sort it my insurance company I guess will look at replacement which although they can't confirm atm may/may not inc the whole kitchen area to be replaced (my issue, the tiles won't be a match due to wear and tear and if you remove ones already lay they will break etc)

any advice please is appreciated.

Can bleach etc be removed from a natural product such as slate..?

Bumping for you.

DH (who does property claims) says that although they would replace any tiles that were damaged in the process of removing the marked ones, the new tiles would be expected to wear in to match the existing ones so you wouldn't get a whole new floor

Hmmm.thanks cmot.
Thing is I have a feeling they would all be damaged..as they are grouted in and once one is removed they all crumble iykiwm.(had similar tiles removed last yr..)

Ins say they may look at doing that due to policy we have BUT just wonder if this bleach may be removed as I may consider working at it myslef iykiwm to save xs and premium change...

You can't remove bleach - bleach has removed the colour. I guess it may be possible to stain the tiles back to their original colour...?

I doubt there is much you could do to slate. Apart from bleach the rest to match..

But I think you could break up and remove separate tiles. I laid a slate floor before Christmas, I am pretty sure I could remove one tile by bashing it to bits with a chisel if necessary and others would be Ok. It'd be hard work getting the adhesive/cement up enough to lay new though.
