my neighbour had one and she must be well in her 50s.
Not sure if on NHS though.

Hi MilaMae,

I'm having braces fitted very soon. I had decided to get them because we were going to get married this year (circumstances changed so we've put it off)

They're like the regular ones only they're clear and I should only have to keep them on for 6 months. There's another type called invisaline or something. A clear shield-like fitting over your teeth. Straightening takes a little longer but much less intrusive and obvious.

I'm 30 BTW and I can't wait to have straight teeth like this >>>>

I'm 40 and me too

Did you have to pay scardypants? (Sorry to ask, don't have to answer if you don't want to)
Was it expensive?

I had two lots of braces in my teens, but teeth still aren't striaght despite wearing retainers as Ortho said..

Hi Morgy,

Yes I'm paying for them but I can claim back some through tax scheme (I'm in Ireland) I could probably have it done through the public health system but as the plan was to have straight teeth for the wedding I decided I deserved to have a nice smile for the first time in my life so I went private.

It's costing almost 4000 euro (sorry I don't know how to get the euro sign on my laptop!)but I never spend money on me, I drink maybe twice or three times a year and I never go out so I think I deserve it

Me too Morgy, an orthodontist once told me they get loads of older people who had the wrong NHS treatment in their teens. Apparantly mine took out the wrong teeth!!!!!

I'm expecting to pay £2000 which is what I got quoted 10 years ago, would be great if it was £400 though.

I had mine, top and bottom done at 25 and they are now straight after 2.5 years of braces. It was well worth it.

Hmm.. think I will wait until after uni then!
Although my teeth are much much better than they were before the braces (my mouth really was a mess!), my front two teeth sort of overlap and I would love to have them back to the way they were when I just had my braces taken off - I was smiling all the time like this .
I think I had about 4 teeth taken out before they put the first braces on.
Good luck for the wedding scardypants, I'm sure your photographs will be lovely and smiley!
