duties for cleaner/housekeeper - any ideas?

i am now back at work full time and really struggling. My dh does nothing in the house (he has v demanding job tho, like me!) and i cannot cope with being expected to do all the housework/cleaning/errand running, ie i have no clean socks where are they??. So I have asked our lovely cleaner if she can do more hours across the whole week and act more like a 'housekeeper'. And she's said yes.

Now, what can I ask a housekeeper to do? and does anyone have one and can you tell me what she/he does?

so far i have on my list:
cleaning, laundry, sorting out cupboards, errands like drycleaning library, shopping/unpacking online shop, preparing some meals, change kids beds (not mine), dog walking,

what else? i kind of want her to do what ever she thinks needs doing but she needs some kind of guide
thanks!

I found the easiest was to go around the house and make an exhaustive list of everything possible that could be done/you would do. Then split it out into things that should be done weekly, things to do monthly and things to be done when there is time. That leaves her some leeway but lots of guidance.

was this for a cleaner or housekeeper - is there a difference?

Why not sit down with DH and work out which jobs you and he don't have time to do/woudl rather pay someone else to do and go from there?
I did notice that ironing wasn't on your list, it would be on mine, as well as changing all beds...

ironing is supposed to be the eldest dd's job (for her allowance) but she never does it and there is the hugest pile on her bed waiting...
so i will add it to the new list.
pointless sitting down with dh tbh as he doesnt even know what stuff needs doing (honest he's v nice but completely never here because of work)
i would like a gardener too but he likes cutting the grass

Signing for parcels, supervising plumber etc., minor repairs to clothes eg hems, loose buttons,a bit of gardening if she's keen (not the grass !).
