I've decided this summer that I want to get dd more than 1 pair of shoes.
I normally buy her shoes from Clarks but since they're £25+ I think it's a bit extreme. I looked on Nexts website today and they have some lovely ones but they're all out of stock

So...
Where do you all shop and do you have any on-line recommendations?

LIZS - Looks as if it might be true, which is a shame. We've had quite a few pairs of Elefantens, and have loved them. They were/are pricey, but I don't mind too much as they fit well, look good, and wear well. Too bad that they won't be available any more.

I did see some Elefanten sandals today - not much choice though - so we may be ok for the summer !

What about this for a faff? Ds who is 3 1/2 has had his shoes since last September and I have frequently had his feet measured to make sure he's still the same size. Visited Russe1l and Bromley about 7 weeks ago who said, he is comming up to the end of that size (7F) and come back in 6 weeks time. Right, last week, went to another branch of Russell and Bromley who said he was 7 1/2 E but had no shoes in his size. We then trotted off to Jones the Bootmakers and they said his feet were OK in the 7F's, though the stitching on the top of the shoe made it difficult to feel his toes. Thought I'd sort out today at Brantanos once and for all, what his shoe size might be, they said 7 1/2 F stroke G but again had no shoes in that size. So I went to Shop for Shoes who said he dosen't need new shoes he's fine in his 7F's. Blimey!

at GBP 25 for a pair of shoes. We went looking for shoes for DD2 today and couldn't find anything under 70 euros. And no different width sizes here - only narrow shoes to fit narrow Belgian children . I just have to look for makes which come up a bit wider than normal, which means we usually get stuck with something dull. On the plus side, I can get age appropriate shoes for DD1, who is 6 and takes size 35 , which I think is about a 2 1/2 in UK sizes. Last time I looked for shoes in her size in UK they all seemed to be chunky loafers or slapper shoes.

Ladies, don't complain about UK prices & sizes too much! I think I am right in saying that UK is unique in not adding tax to childrens shoes & clothing therefore they tend to be cheaper than mainland europe. Certainly true compared with here in Austria! Everytime I am in UK I rush ds 2.7 off to Clarks for a new fitting & new pair of (relatively cheap) shoes. Width fitting simply dosen't exist here, Clarks really is fantastic in comparison!

Liz S, if you want them for the winter you will have the choice of two pairs one Clarkes and one Start-rite. However during the summer, yes, there is the choice of one solitary pair. We only had the choice of 1 as the Clarks didn;t start til size 7.
