Just wondering really as have spotted some going for half price and recently have had to cope with ds1 bouncing off the walls as weather has been so bad that I haven't been able to take him out as either I or ds2 (9mo) have had bad lurgy...

saw the ads for them ages ago but dismissed due to the price. But now they are going for just over £40 they seem much more reasonable, especially if I can set it up and ds can play happily on it and wear himself out in this miserable weather.

ds1 loves getting on the computer and is already fairly competent at navigating around his favourite websites and applications but I have always steered clear of electronic games as I didn't wanting him sitting holed up in a corner playing instead of being energetic. But now that ds2 has come along and being poorly myself it's not really fair on him that he doesn't get to go out as much as he used to. so this seems like it could be a good thing.

Are they solidly made? Did they keep your dc entertained and did they really cycle or did they just not bother once the novelty wore off? And anything else that I should be asking about them

thanks for that!

my friend has one for her 4 year old. apparently, they eat batteries, so she hasn't been using it. I told her to buy rechargeable

just bumping for the lunchtime crowd...

thanks for that PR and CFB - yes, set of rechargables sounds a very sensible idea.

why is it that manufacturers make things like this that are so power hungry and then don't put a mains adapter in too? There are way too many kiddie toys made that don't get used because they gobble batteries which makes them way too expensive to run. and especially something like this - not like it is going to be moved around to rooms without electricity in the same way a cd player might be! And what do they think the television is going to be using for power... hey ho.
