Bounty debate

Does anyone use the Bounty forums? I've just been hugely insulted during a debate about early weaning and am feeling quite hurt. Does that sort of thing happen on mumsnet too, or is it just a terrible Bounty thing?

Its much more fun over here!

On Saturday I spoke to a mother who weaned her child onto Baby Rice at 3 weeks. She said she was such a large baby that she was always hungry. I have not seen the child but she referred to her as Sumo Baby. I have my opinion but I didn't share it with her as she would have been offended.

I trd 2 rd tht dscssn but lots of pstrs hav lft all th vwls out of the wrds so its rlly hrd 2 rd. They all seem uttrly bnkrz ovr on Bnty site. MNers r so lvly & sensble.

I think text typing is the norm on bounty, I have no problems reading it as my sister sends me emails in text speak. I keep telling her that she doesn't have a word limit on emails but will she listen.....???

evansmummy · 30/03/2005 21:37

Right, that's it. I'm staying here. Bounty is banished from my favourites. Any people giving baby rice at 6 weeks aren't worth arguing with anyway. Or is that a bit harsh? It was probably that sort of comment that got me shouted at in the first place !

No, not harsh - you'd be wasting your time, unfortunatley.

Oooh, was that what all the Babyworld references were about yesterday, Socci? I did wonder.

There is just no comparison. MN is heads and possett-soaked shoulders above the rest.

Spacecadet · 30/03/2005 21:41

not at all harsh evansmummy

evansmummy · 30/03/2005 21:42

Well, I'm quite new here, but from the threads I've read and/or started, everyone seems very sensible, intelligent and generally useful, which is refreshing! I'm just sorry I didn't find you lot earlier!!

Why are they all in such a rush anyway? My ds (nearly 4 months) is happy on mummy's milk alone, and from a lazy pov, it means I dont have to piss around sterilising everything and mushing up carrot.

Far too much hassle .................

Spacecadet · 30/03/2005 21:44

Ha Ha!! you might like to see my pic on my profile(complete with tiara and wand) then you might change your mind(about me at least!!)

And no, they don't get points for using Hipp.

cellogirl · 30/03/2005 21:49

The next thing they'll be telling us is that they have given their babies their first ciggie and can of Tennants Super.

(Naughty Cellogirl...)

Spacecadet · 30/03/2005 21:51

rofl cellogirl!!

fuzzywuzzy · 30/03/2005 21:53

The funniest comment was from one of the ladies who was being abused for expressing doubt about the need to wean at six weeks. She asked 'if it is best to start the baby on red wean or white wean?'.......

cellogirl · 30/03/2005 21:54

I am guessing that evansmummy's bounty alter ego is is mummy177, so I'd just like to say...
