Sheds - yes you heard me - sheds...

Perhaps this should go under the products subject, I dunno...

Anyway:
Sheds - do they come flatpacked or ready assembled?

Do they just get stood up directly onto the lawn or do you have to dig some sort of trench as mini foundations.

Sorry, me and dh are well useless and need assistance even with changing plugs. I thought I'd save myself some time asking these questions before we go on a shed buying mission.

You have to assemble them, and put them on paving stones or concrete otherwise they rot. Had an enjoyable afternoon watching dh and a friend struggle with ours

u can lay some slabs down on level ground for the shed to sit on.

and they generally come in panels. very easy to do, tho the roof felting is a bit of a b*gger to do.

gets yourself an decent electric screwdriver.

can get them here(teesside0 both ready assembled and flat pack..think id rather pay the extra and get someone else to swear and cuss at it

We paid the extra to have our put up for us - well worth it imo!

That's interesting Aero - where did you get it and how much did you have to pay to get it erected?

oh, you big wuss. its fun putting up a shed. (can you tell i do the DIY here and all power tools are mine pgrin])

we bought from a local firm and the price included delivery and erection but you had to have a firm standing

it is quite easy to do, but i'd say its more a 3-4man/woman job that a 2 person one.

am looking at playhouses for my girls and know it'll be me and helpers putting it up.

I'd buy a summerhouse from B&Q - I think children outgrow the little playhouses really early, and the summerhouse will last much, much longer. And don't you grow them big, Misdee?

lol, dd 1 is very small and petite actually. just dd2 is a big un, and dd3 well we'll wait and see.

My ds is short and chubby and even he is too tall for the plastic playhouses at three. I dream of having a lovely summerhouse tbh.

summer house would be better as i could claim it as my sanctuary in the summer evenings

Very nice indeed. Esp with a coat of paint I think. You could have pretty curtains too for the girls. I also want a Cath Kidston tent from Milletts. I like having a girl, it's a good excuse to buy things that you want for yourself
