Good quality curtain fabric wanted - where to buy?

I know you will all know this!

I must get some heavy good quality curtain fabric, I saw some cream stuff on Saturday with a little baytree on it, although it was £33 a metre. I need so much of the stuff, I am looking for anywhere with a sale on , or anywhere that sells seconds, or anyone who works in a shop and can give me a discount?! Only joking about the last bit, I dont want anyone getting into trouble.

Here is my catchment area. Surrey/Berkshire/Hampshire borders. West London. or Chelmsford.

Would really appreciate some help with this.

Are there and "Fabric World" type shops near you? There are 2 (Croydon & Wallington in Surrey) which I think sell end of lines etc. I think they're Fabric Worls and Fabric Warehouse.

The big fabric design companies often have an annual sale in a large hall/warehouse, advertised in Evening Standard etc (used to work for one, sorry not any more so can't get you a bargain!). You can get some really good discounts there.

Try Freelance Fabrics in Farnham Surrey- great material and all the 'in' colours - and their prices are much cheaper than normal - I've used them a lot. ( I think they may have other branches in the region - but not sure where)

Get in touch with Designers Guild - they have two brilliant warehouse sales a year (usually in White City near the BBC), and get on their mailing list. Someone else does one too, but I can't remember who. Er, maybe Jane Churchill> Try the website for a phone number,

also gosh2, if you're quite 'handy' and want to stock up on bargain furnishing/curtain fabrics, get
Malabar to put you on their mailing list for their sales (I think they're twice a year) where most of the £30 a metre fabrics are reduced to say a five a metre. they're based in Vauxhall & it's worth a trip if you have somewhere to store bundles of yummy fabric

John Lewis. Never failed me!

Gosh2
Haven't been there, but Blendworth Fabrics in Horndean have a factory shop with all their stuff reduced. Also try Mitchells Fabrics - they have branches in Haslemere, Godalming and, I think, Dorking. They do tend to stock different stuff in each shop. They've certainly had baytree-thype fabrics in their windows recently.
Good luck!

Hi there - I work in a fabric shop in Surrey and I think the fabric you want is made by Villa Nova. Check to see if you can get on their mailing list for end of lines sales. How much do you need, might be able to do you a deal!!!
