I've got an old style P&T from the olden days - 8 years old to be precise. The seat & hood are navy, but by the edges where it zips onto the frame, almost all the colour has faded. Not life or death, but I'm just digging it out for dd to use & toying with the idea of dyeing them. The seats are just heavy duty something, and the hood is similar, but has a sort of rubber lining. I know the rubber wouldn't take, but d'ya reckon it'd wor ont eh seats, or should I just pull myself together and leave it. I know dd, at 5 months old couldn't care less about it really.

Life is too short The chair will be smeared with sick/ milk/ biscuit etc etc before you know it anyway!

I wouldn't have thought the dye would take, also in washing it you might risk shrinking something (have just shrunk precious duffle coat toggles, trying to dye coat green!). Could you make some sort of cover? A woman i know at playgroup did this sort of stretch covers and it looked great and she could throw them in the wash.

Hia,you were right - . I got the dye as I was in the haberdashers anyway. It didn't really work, in that the seats haven't changed colour, but the couple of goes through the machine have brightened it up a lot.

I agree, life is too short for some things, but I unzipped and removed all the seats etc anyway to wash (they ae machine washable) so really, the only effort involved was to switch washing machine on again.

Don't tell me you wouldn't get bored of using the same pair of shoes/handbag for 8 years . Just trying to jolly it up a bit.
