Ideas for mum's 65th birthday present?

Thought I may as well try here...my mum is semi-retiring & is not a grey haired little old lady at all tho not exactly trendy.. I feel I should get something a bit different/special but haven't got much money.
Maybe some kind of pampering type thing, something more than a manicure but not a health farm... any ideas?

Lots of spa places do day packages - you get various combo's of treatments and to use the facilities. We sent my Mum on one as a suprise fo her 50th. We put her (and her hangover) into a cab, packed her best outfit and arranged for a hair and make up session at the end ofthe day, tehn had a cab pick her up and bring her home to a suprise party.

That sounds good, tho may be over budget, then again could try to get rest of family to help out. Does anyone know of anything around Surrey area, or any other ideas?
Anything gratefully received...my brain is so taken up with various 3 yr old birthdays coming up I have gone blank where grown-ups are concerned.

Do you have a Body Shop nearby/near your Mum. The bigger ones have "Green Rooms" where you can have alot/a little pampering. You can get vouchers from 20 pounds upwards. Still a treat but maybe not too expensive?

Or what about Theatre tickets to a West End show?

Body Shop sounds do-able, just looked on their website & couldn't see mention of green rooms, but then again i keep getting logged off so am getting a bit fed up anyway. Will investigate further. Theatre would be nice, especially if I could think of something my dad won't want to go to so I can instead. Thanks.

Check out your local college. i work in one where(amongst other things) we teach beauty therapy. The students have to practise, so everything is avaliable to the public at mega cheap prices.

If your booking theatre or concert tickets remember to mention, that they are for OAP's, then you'll get the discount. This can make it a very cheap option.
