Homemade batman mask

DS2 (4) is under the impression that I'm going to make him a Batman mask whilst he's at nursery. He got this impresison when I said "I'll make you one" when he had a tantrum because his friend got hold of the nursery's mask before he did and I wanted to get out of there as quickly as possible.

Your challenge : find me online instructions on how to do it! I have black felt and a vague mental image of what it's meant to look like.

do a google image search to get right shape, cut it out, cut out holes for eyes, attach elastic. he will think its brill whatever it looks like cos his fab mummy made it (you should see some of the rubbish my kids go out wearing!)

I always forget to use Google images.

It needs to be the sort that is like a hat with ears with a bit that comes down over the eyes.

why did I not just walk out leaving him to sort it out?? Rash promises always cath up with you

have you got an old coat you could cut the hood off and stick ears onto? (cut eye holes in the back so he would wear it back to front) or you could use the hood as a pattern for the shapes to cut out the felt and then sew it?

we bought ds1 a batman hat in John Lewis for £4. Get yourself down there

My current thinking is that I can base it on his winter hat which is kind of beanie shaped. Add ears, a mask and lengthen the back.

I'm not going to let it beat me! Buying one would be giving in now

But can you get it to my house in the remaining 75mins?

I guess not Soup - I'm in Milton Keynes ( 7 minutes from the town centre - very handy).

My nearest one is in London - 35 mins train, 5 mins underground, 5 mins all plus hunting time and then the return trip. Not allowing for train delays.
