This promises to be interesting and probably sickening.

The only designer thing my dd has - is a pair of knitted mittens bought for her from Daisy and Tom King St Chelsea. The only reason she has them - after two lots of open heart surgery - whilst paralysed, sedated and cooled she needed something to help keep the wrapping on her hands. Her extremeties needed to be kept warm. The only store close to the hospital was this store. Most of her clothes are Hennes, mothercare, ladybird and adams bargains.

I almost died when I paid the price for them and commented to my dh that my gran or his could knock them up for about 50p out of wool left overs.

We did have a little look at the Baby Dior and everything else there - I was just horrified at the prices. I could never imagine spending that much money on a baby/child. It did open my eyes to how much some ppl must spend on their children. The store was very very busy.

On leaving the store - I managed to set off the alarms - I just laughed and checked the bag. The young man who had served me had not taken the security tag off the mittens. He was mortified and profusely apologised to me whilst removing the taf. My dh just made remarks about my convict heritage coming back to haunt me.

As to the programme - I decided not to watch it as I knew I would get annoyed. My dh managed to watch about five minutes before turning it off in disgust.

I too felt very sorry for Georgina. She wasn't interested in the present but just wanted a hug from her mam. I thought that was very sad. Could her mam not see that she wanted to spend more time with her. Surely the mother doesn't need to work as much as she does. I work 3 full days but for the other four I spend all the time with ds apart from when he goes to nursery.I would just hate to lead the life style that Georgina's mam does - hardly seeing her daughter. I know she gives her all the toys, clothes etc that she wants but that isn't what she needs. It makes me very thankful for the life I have after watching this programme.

Did anyone else think that Georgina's mum seemed rather thick, it was said that she worked in recruitment (which I have done) but I don't think I would want her to employ someone for me, unless she has a completely different attitude and approach at work.

Agree about Georgina's mum - not the sharpest knife in the drawer. And how long did she spend mithering about the car in the toy shop when she could have just whizzed home and spent another hour with Georgina (who took virtually no notice of the car when mama brought it home).

Seemed to me that dear Mummy would rather spend the time at the toy shop choosing an expensive toy than actually spend time with her daughter. Very, very sad. She didn't exactly look happy did she?
