Anyone else on their own for Mothers' Day.

My DH has had to go to Italy this weekend leaving me on my own. To add insult to injury he's taken my Mother with him!!!!!!! (what's that all about?)

No such luck. They are not flying back to England until Tuesday. My 6 yr old daughter has said she look after my 3yr old and make me breakfast in bed! I'm really scared but very touched so I bought her some cereal she can make me and give to me without 1. setting fire to the house 2. burning her or her brother 3. and/ or in some way shape or form damaging herself and her brother.

A few years ago I was on my own for mothers day, with DS who was about 3 at the time, Dp was away and my mum had gone off to florida! Me and DS watched a Muppets movie together and ate icecream, it was great!

I got myself a curry and cleared out the cupboards. Does that count

She is today, however its her birthday next week so for the last month she had horns!!! However TODAY she's very sweet and appreciated be me.

dh isn't back from thailand til moday night, so i am too.

What will you do?

get drunk tonight and stay in bed with a hangover, demanding the kids fix the house and bring me food and drink at regular intervals

I've more or less done that today apart from dragging them out in the cold to look at a caravan. They were decidely unimpressed.

ah well they will know what to do then, problem sorted!

My dh is off to scotland in a couple of hours time, leaving me alone for mothers day (which also happens to be my birthday). I will miss him but I am really glad for him, too. So much more happy than sad.

The boys and I will rent a DVD (the third Harry Potter film, as I have never seen it and genuinely want to). We'll cuddle up under fleece blankets and watch the film this evening.

He is off on a weeks course to get the first part of his pest control officer qualifications. It might not sound very exciting, but I am so chuffed he is in a job he really likes and getting qualified in it. I am postponing my birthday treat till he comes back, but I have it all planned.

Also, I am looking forward to logging onto mumsnet whenever I like and for as long as I like in the evenings - a rarity!

ON my own every day but sometimes i think that is easier.... heading out to countryside with a flask of tomato soup and some bread rolls... just making me and dd some breakfast in bed! She's watching tele and I am reading.

snap... my dd is having a hyperactive morning. Buts ok she keeps saying 'Happy Mothers Day' and singing 'Happy Birthday' Not quite the right idea but very cute!!

Am alone until about lunchtime. Sunday League Football does not stop for mothers. Ah well....

My dh is away on the oil rigs. My 2 dss went to the shop on their own yesterday and chose my presents themselves which they got out of their pocket money. Trouble is ds2 got up at 6 to give me his, when normally on a Sunday he doesn't get up until at least 8.

My lie in my dd promised was until 7am. I was woken up with a bow of milk with the smallest amount of cereal you've ever seen and I'm sorry I spil the cereal. Bless her she can be so cute sometimes. Shortly after I had two bunches of flowers thrust in my face and bounced on. They've gone off to play now but it was very cute. They want to go out soon but I want to stay in bed. I think a trip to the park with the dog is about as far as I'm up to today.

I'm still in bed!
