Where do the rest of you stand on these? I have to say, I've been pretty laissez faire up until now (ds is 4), but when my mum came to stay recently, I noticed she was often picking him up ? especially on the nose-picking, saying things like, "that's not a very nice thing to do".
While I've always been firm about things like please and thank you, asking to get down from the table, I feel a bit unsure about how to approach what are, after all, everyday bodily functions. What do you all do.
(Honestly, everyone, this is not a dodgy thread! I'd seriously value all your opinions! )

When my DD2 was a baby I detected that odour in the room and asked DD1 if she had filled her nappy? She went over, had a good sniff and said no, it must just have been a heavy fart.

Some of these are hillarious!

DS1 generally says "someone's done a pump" whereas we say fart, although not in front of him, don't really know why.

My MIL thinks bum is a rude word!

Just remembered, last week we were in a car showroom changing our car and when we were sitting in the office doing the deal DS1 announced "I've done a smelly pump and you're all going to die"!

Demented - ROFL I laughed out loud.

In our house we call them poots or pooters. It's quite common to hear "OK! Who pootered in the car?!"

We call dd's (18 months) farts "ghost poopies" because her farts always cause us to take her in for a change only to find her bottom clean yet very smelly.

Our nickname for dd is "Pooty Pooterton". ROFL!

These are brilliant, I am crying with laughter.
We say windy pops for burps and bottom burps for farts atm. (Dd is nealry 7 months old)
