Nursery Rhymes- Which ones are your favourites?

I have been volunteered to carry on a nursery rhyme session at our local Church toddler group, followed by a story.
Please could anyone give me their favourite nursey rhymes to add to my list.
Also the previous lady volunteer used cds with nursery ryhmes on, but sometimes the songs had different words, or a slower pace etc to the songs that we all knew- would it be okay to go empty handed (I know i am probably going to end up singing to a room of mums and toddlers)- but hopefully a few will join in- won't they?

Have no idea why but my favourite rhyme is 'There was a crooked man'...I just love it!
I even find myself quietly humming it

dingle dangle scarecrow - small people lay on floor then jump up hyper at apropriate time - my ds doenst get it though and thinks he has to lay down till the end of the session

Watching with interest - I have just volunteered the same thing at our toddler group (they clearly don't know I'm tone deaf yet ). So far on my list:-

Twinkle Twinkle
Baa Baa Black Sheep
Wind the Bobbin Up
Row your boat (with crocodile, polar bear and lion verses)
This is the way the lady rides
Old McDonald's Farm (each dc takes turn to come up with the animal)
Dingle Dangle Scarecrow
Ring of Roses
Miss Molly had a dolly
I'm a little teapot
Incy Wincy Spider

Think that's it for now

Thanks all for the great replies.
Those are great lists Califrau and Tilly. I do know most of them. I am starting this Tuesday. Do you think i need to use cd's or will plain singing (am also tone deaf) suffice?

Merry - I'm not having any backing tape - just me and my dulcet tones We have got some instruments (drums, maracas etc.,) so I'm hoping the dc's will drown me out

merryandmad · 29/09/2008 17:36

My favourite nurserynrhyme is the teapot one
www.nursery-rhymes.co/index.php/home/lyrics/the-teapot-song

I also like the singing games in which you imitate the actions being sung like
On the bridge of Avignon or Old MacDonald had a farm

What a lot of fun!
